Carbondale is Zone C$750 each way for the 41-mile route from our Gypsum yard. Residential, ranch and agricultural sites often need off-grid office power, secure storage and a measured access plan; compare every fleet family in the price table near the end.

Why is Carbondale Zone C instead of Zone B?

Every delivery begins on our own truck at the Gypsum yard. We drive I-70 west through Glenwood Canyon to Glenwood Springs, then continue about 12 miles south on Colorado 82 to the Colorado 133 junction at Carbondale.

That extra valley leg makes the full route 41 miles and places listed Carbondale ZIPs in Zone C. The same truck handles delivery and pickup, and each direction carries the same zone fee.

Colorado 133 continues south toward Redstone and McClure Pass, while Colorado 82 continues up-valley past Basalt toward Aspen and Snowmass. Those place names do not set a fee; the delivery ZIP does.

Cost lineHow Carbondale is priced
Monthly rentSelected unit and upgrades, through the rental period
DeliveryZone C fee for the truck trip from Gypsum
PickupSame Zone C fee at retrieval
Damage waiverPercentage of rent and recurring upgrades, when elected
Environmental feePercentage of rent and recurring upgrades on each rental invoice

A 20 ft Grid-Free office for the 3-month minimum is $1,495/mo rent, $750 delivery and $750 pickup. Add the 12% damage waiver and 5% environmental fee on rent and recurring upgrades, plus sales tax.

Zone assignments come from the delivery ZIP. If a project uses an address outside our published table, we quote the trip by text rather than extending Carbondale's Zone C assignment to it.

Which county should receive your permit question?

For a site inside Carbondale town limits, begin with the Town of Carbondale at Town Hall. An unincorporated Garfield County parcel goes to Garfield County Community Development, but a Carbondale mailing address alone does not prove which government holds the parcel.

Some addresses with Carbondale mailing labels sit in Eagle County or Pitkin County farther up-valley. El Jebel is in Eagle County, and Missouri Heights is split between Garfield and Eagle counties, so check which county holds your parcel before you apply.

Carbondale is a home rule town in Garfield County with a 2020 census population of 6,434, and the town limits are tight against the surrounding county land. The parcel record, not the neighborhood name, controls where you ask about a particular site.

Use Colorado container permit questions to organize the information an authority may need. Ask about the exact unit, proposed location and duration rather than seeking a general answer for every construction container.

Under Rental Agreement §5, permits, zoning, HOA approval and landlord consent are the customer's responsibility. Put those records with your site plan before dispatch, and make sure the representative meeting our truck knows the approved location.

The Town or County sets the current requirements and fees once they know the parcel and project. Bring the site plan, the unit and the expected months on site to that conversation.

How do you support a site without utility service?

Ranch, agricultural and residential work around the Crystal River and Missouri Heights can begin before permanent electrical or wired internet service reaches the field office. Start by identifying HVAC demand, ordinary plug loads, sky exposure and the communication tasks that cannot wait.

The Grid-Free office includes everything in the Base office plus WATCH, CONNECT and POWER. Its 10 kWh battery runs HVAC, and it does not need shore power.

A Base office has mini-split heat and cooling, a 50-amp shore-power inlet, lights, outlets, vinyl-plank floor, a 36-inch steel door and two barred slider windows. It is also the only office eligible for JOLT Express.

Field-office choiceMini-split powerInternet and camera
Grid-FreeBuilt-in 10 kWh batteryBoth built in
Base plus generatorYour generator and fuel routineAdd as needed
Base plus POWERShore power still neededAdd as needed

JOLT does not supply the generator. If the plan is Base plus generator, the 50-amp connection, fuel routine and noise rules are yours to arrange before the office arrives.

POWER can be fitted to a Base, 40 ft office or storage unit with two 400 W panels, a 3 kWh LFP battery and an inverter. It runs Starlink, the camera, lights and laptops; a Base office that runs its mini-split all day still wants shore power. Alpine already includes the larger solar and battery system.

CONNECT supplies Starlink Mini, a router and 50 GB Roam service. WATCH supplies a solar LTE camera, while JOLT PACK groups WATCH, CONNECT and POWER for a unit that does not already include them.

Terrain, weather, sky view, sunlight, load and third-party networks affect these systems. The READY package adds a plan table, 2 chairs, whiteboard, mini-fridge, microwave and 1,500 W heater but does not change those site dependencies.

What size handles the work without blocking the site?

The shortest storage choices support frequent tool access on residential and agricultural work. A 10 ft storage container offers half the floor of a 20 ft unit, with a walk-in man door, barred window and end cargo doors.

The 12 ft storage container is 8 ft wide and standard height. It also provides a man door, one barred window and cargo doors, giving a foreman a walk-in tool crib without ordering a full 20 ft length.

For palletized material and general secure storage, use the 20 ft one-trip container. Its cargo doors have 4 lock bars and a welded lockbox, and it has no man door or windows.

The 40 ft high-cube container stands 9 ft 6 in tall and provides twice the floor of a 20 ft box. It carries a 3-month minimum and requires about 100 ft of straight-line truck clearance, so it belongs on an open site with a protected pickup path.

The 20 ft office family uses about 70 ft of straight-line clearance for delivery. An Alpine office adds cedar surrounds, matte black treatment, a standing-seam over-roof, covered entry deck and backup heat where the office remains visible to owners or neighbors.

A 40 ft office with bathroom gives the crew an enclosed bathroom at the far end. It also has mini-split heat and cooling, a 50-amp shore-power inlet, lights, outlets and vinyl-plank floor, but its longer access requirement must fit the site.

Review what a mobile office rental includes before comparing footprints. The room, power approach, furnishings and support equipment should match the work phase rather than a generic crew count.

What does winter change between town and the upper valley?

Carbondale's elevation is 6,172 ft per USGS GNIS. The lower valley generally has a shorter winter than the upper Roaring Fork, but snow, freezing nights and shaded ground still affect access and placement.

Mount Sopris, 12,965 ft per USGS, stands directly south of town, and parcels on its shaded north-facing benches hold snow weeks longer than lots on the valley floor. Use the site's own grade, sun exposure and drainage when preparing the truck route.

Clear snow and ice from the full approach, not just the container corners. Keep the pad firm, level and well drained, mark utilities, remove overhead conflicts and preserve about 70 ft for a 20 ft set or 100 ft for a 40 ft set.

A ground heater is a trailer-mounted hydronic thaw and concrete-curing unit with insulated hose on a reel. It is priced in season and supports winter work, but the placement area for a container still needs separate preparation.

Short daylight can make a light tower useful. Its single-axle trailer carries a generator cabinet and 4 LED floodlights on a mast reaching about 30 ft.

Plan where plowed snow will go after the office or storage unit arrives. A pile at the cargo doors stops daily access, while a pile in the truck line can cause a failed pickup months later.

How should you plan access along Colorado 82?

Colorado 82 carries traffic between Glenwood Springs and Aspen, and RFTA runs bus service along that corridor. Treat the delivery lane as a scheduled site operation, with one representative controlling contractor vehicles and keeping the entrance available.

Our route reaches Carbondale through Glenwood Canyon before turning south. If CDOT closes I-70 between Dotsero at Exit 133 and Glenwood Springs at Exit 116 before our truck leaves Gypsum, we do not roll, no trip fee applies because the failed-delivery charge only arises once the truck reaches your site, and we text you to reschedule.

Per CDOT, canyon safety closures may occur during flash-flood warnings over the 2020 Grizzly Creek Fire burn scar or after rockfall and debris flows. CDOT's official through detour uses Colorado 9, US 40 and Colorado 13 through Kremmling, Craig and Rifle and adds several hours, so our delivery truck does not take it.

Road closures and weather are events beyond our reasonable control, and under Rental Agreement §23 JOLT is not liable for a delay they cause. Build a day of slack into the mobilization rather than counting on a make-up date or a credit.

Once the truck reaches your site, a different rule applies. If access, weather at the site, site conditions or an absent representative prevents placement, §5 charges that trip's full delivery fee and the next delivery trip.

The placement representative directs where we set the unit. Damage to the site from the location you direct is your responsibility, and you may not move, lift or tow the unit after placement.

Preserve the route for retrieval. Give at least 15 days' written notice, empty and clean the unit, remove attachments and keep it accessible; Rental Agreement §16 says rent continues until we retrieve it.

Which site-support rentals belong in the plan?

Temporary fence consists of galvanized chain-link panels 6 ft tall by 10 ft wide with steel tube stands and clamps. Measure every run, corner and access opening rather than estimating from parcel area.

Traffic control equipment comes in Basic, Standard and Full packages. Basic has 25 cones, 6 Type II barricades and 2 sign stands; Standard includes 50 cones, 10 Type III barricades, 8 vertical panels, 4 sign stands and 2 flagger paddles; Full adds a solar arrow board and 2 flashing barricade lights.

A portable hand-wash station can accompany any storage or office unit or be ordered by itself. Place it where crews can use it without blocking the office door, cargo-door swing or truck access.

Support equipment should follow the work sequence. Fence needed during demolition may change before finish work, and a light tower parked in an open laydown area can occupy the only straight line available for later pickup.

Coordinate every trailer and panel run on one field plan. The superintendent should see unit corners, door direction, pedestrian routes, deliveries, snow storage and the retrieval path together.

Use rental versus buying break-even factors for a long project. Duration matters, but delivery, retrieval, post-project storage and responsibility for the unit also belong in the comparison.

Rent only, plus applicable sales tax. Damage waiver 12% and environmental fee 5% are added to rent; delivery is by zone.

Rent is owed through the full minimum term under Rental Agreement §3. After the minimum, it continues month to month until 15 days' written pickup notice and retrieval, and the rate rises 5% on each anniversary of delivery.

The environmental fee is 5% of rent plus recurring upgrades. The damage waiver is 12% on that same base, with theft and other exclusions listed in Rental Agreement §12.

Instead of the waiver, you may provide a refundable deposit equal to one month's rent plus a certificate of insurance. Taxes are additional, and a clear comparison includes the minimum term, both truck legs, selected upgrades and recurring percentages.

How do you reserve a Carbondale unit?

Reserve here, or send the quote form further down the page, with the delivery ZIP, parcel jurisdiction, unit, term and site contact. Review how rental works and send approach photos early enough to resolve a gate, turn or overhead concern.

The reservation deposit applies to your first invoice under Rental Agreement §2. Written cancellation more than 14 days before the first day of the window is free; cancellation at 14 days or less forfeits the deposit.

We confirm the delivery window by text. Keep the placement representative ready and tell us if the site route, canyon status or pad changes before dispatch.

Carbondale is 41 miles from our Gypsum yard, including about 12 miles south from Glenwood Springs on Colorado 82. Zone C delivery is $750 each way.

Does a Carbondale mailing address establish the permit authority?

No. Some Carbondale mailing addresses are in Garfield, Eagle or Pitkin counties, so check which county holds the parcel before you apply; each county runs its own permit counter, and the 2–4 week delivery window is not the time to discover you asked the wrong one.

What office works without shore power near Carbondale?

The 20 ft Grid-Free office has WATCH, CONNECT and POWER built in, plus a 10 kWh battery that runs HVAC. It does not require shore power.

How long is the normal Carbondale delivery window?

Does a 40 ft storage container have a minimum term?

Yes, the 40 ft high-cube storage container has a 3-month minimum. Rent is due for all 3 months even if early pickup is requested.

What recurring percentages apply to a Carbondale rental?

The environmental fee is 5% of rent plus recurring upgrades, and the optional damage waiver is 12% on the same base. Sales tax is additional.

What clearance should I plan for a Carbondale office?

Plan about 70 ft of straight-line clearance for a 20 ft office and about 100 ft for a 40 ft office. The route also needs turning and overhead room.

When does a reservation deposit become nonrefundable?

Written cancellation is free more than 14 days before the first day of the delivery window. Within 14 days, the deposit is forfeited.
