How does a phased Eagle project use one field setup?

Long residential work rarely holds the same center of activity for its full schedule. A superintendent may start beside utility work, shift toward vertical construction and finish near punch-list units, while material security and meeting space remain necessary through every move.

Haymeadow is the local example: a master-planned community at the base of the Haymaker trail system on Eagle's east side, whose PUD was approved in 2014 with infrastructure construction following (Vail Daily), and where the 7 Hermits condominiums, 76 owned units across seven buildings, were completed in 2024 (R.A. Nelson project page). A build-out that runs a decade from first grading to last closing is why the project team should pick a durable office pad, fenced laydown area and storage lane with later phases in mind rather than planning around the first excavation alone.

Start with a 20 ft office container, temporary fence and a storage box sized to the material plan. Fence panels are 6 ft tall by 10 ft wide, use steel tube stands and clamps, and can shift as a controlled boundary when the work face changes.

An on-site relocation costs $450 and must be completed by our truck. You may not move, lift or tow a unit; select the next firm, level and well-drained pad, preserve truck alignment and schedule the move before the old area becomes inaccessible.

Long jobs also need a billing checkpoint. Rent is due through the full minimum term, continues month to month after that until written notice and retrieval, and increases 5% on each anniversary of delivery under Rental Agreement §3.

Build those dates into the project forecast rather than treating the first monthly rate as fixed for several seasons. A planned demobilization should account for 15 days' written notice, a clear pickup lane and the fact that rent continues until our truck retrieves the equipment.

Which route brings our truck into Eagle?

Eagle lies 6 miles east of the JOLT yard by I-70 Exit 147 or US-6. Every delivery begins on our own truck in Gypsum, and the dispatch route is matched to the actual placement address rather than merely the Eagle mailing name.

I-70 is usually the direct valley movement, while US-6 provides the parallel local connection. The final turn often controls the set because the tilt-bed must enter the property, align straight with the marked pad and leave without crossing fresh work.

A 20 ft unit needs about 70 ft of straight-line clearance, and a 40 ft unit needs about 100 ft. Adequate overhead clearance, route width, turning radius and grade also apply under Rental Agreement §5.

Mark underground and overhead utilities before arrival. Move worker vehicles, deliveries and stockpiles out of the approach, then designate a representative who can direct the placement when our driver reaches the site.

JOLT places the equipment where that representative directs, and site damage from the directed placement is the customer's responsibility. A failed trip caused by access, site conditions, weather or no representative is charged at the delivery fee for that trip plus the next trip.

Standard delivery uses a 2–4 week window from reservation. The Base office alone can use JOLT Express, which puts it on site within 7 business days for $750 without promising a particular date.

Who approves a container or office in Eagle?

Eagle is the county seat and a home rule town. Town Hall is at 200 Broadway, Eagle, CO 81631 (Town of Eagle documents), and sites inside town limits go through the Town of Eagle.

Properties outside municipal limits go through Eagle County Community Development. Verify the boundary with the placement address because nearby construction can use an Eagle mailing address without sharing the same permitting authority.

The Town of Eagle has adopted the 2021 editions of the International Codes and the 2020 National Electrical Code with regional amendments, per its Building Codes page. Minimum roof snow loads use the current Structural Engineers Association of Colorado "Snow Load Design Data for Colorado."

Eagle County uses the 2021 International Codes and 2023 National Electrical Code through the county Building Resolution, according to the Eagle County website. Permits, zoning, HOA approval and landlord consent remain the customer's responsibility under Rental Agreement §5. Keep approvals available at the site and do not reserve around an assumed answer from a different parcel.

Institutional sites bring a second gatekeeper. Vail Health, for example, operates a clinic at 377 Sylvan Lake Road in Eagle (Vail Health locations page), and work on a property like that usually has a facilities manager who controls where a container may sit and when a truck may enter; get that consent in writing before you reserve.

What size works on Eagle's varied sites?

The 20 ft storage container is the general material box. This one-trip, standard-height ISO unit has end cargo doors with four lock bars and a welded lockbox, with no windows or man door.

Select the 40 ft storage container when a long phase needs twice the floor of the 20 ft box. The 40 ft unit is 9 ft 6 in high-cube, has cargo doors and a welded lockbox, and carries a 3-month minimum.

A 12 ft walk-in container puts one barred window and a man door on the long side while retaining end cargo doors. Crews checking tools in and out throughout the shift can use that entrance without operating the cargo doors every time.

The 10 ft storage container has half the floor of the 20 ft unit and fits placements where the longer box will not. Its man door, barred window and cargo doors make it useful for a compact service area or tight residential phase.

The 40 ft office with bathroom includes an enclosed bathroom at the far end, mini-split heating and cooling, lights, outlets and vinyl-plank floor. It takes 50-amp shore power, and the project must still preserve the 40 ft delivery alignment.

A firm, level and well-drained placement is required for every size. Review whether shipping containers need a foundation with the permitting authority's site-specific direction rather than improvising on soft fill.

How should Eagle sites handle winter and power?

Eagle's elevation is 6,601 ft per USGS GNIS. Snow and freeze-thaw conditions can change a graded entrance, shoulder and pad, so the dry route photographed at reservation needs another check before delivery.

Grade runoff away from the container and keep snow storage outside the future pickup lane. Clear doors, condensers, panels and access paths through the rental so the unit operates and remains retrievable.

The Grid-Free office includes WATCH, CONNECT and POWER, plus a 10 kWh battery capable of running its HVAC without shore power. It suits a phase before utility service, although solar and connectivity depend on sunlight, load, terrain, sky view, weather and networks.

An Alpine office brings a matte-black exterior, cedar surrounds, standing-seam over-roof, covered entry deck and backup heat to Grid-Free. WATCH, CONNECT, POWER and the 10 kWh battery are included; READY, a second camera and unlimited Starlink can stack on it.

Add WATCH to Base, the 40 ft office or storage for a solar LTE camera, or CONNECT for Starlink Mini, a router and 50 GB Roam. POWER uses two 400 W panels, a 3 kWh LFP battery and inverter, while JOLT PACK combines those three upgrades.

For outside operations, a light tower has a trailer-mounted mast reaching about 30 ft with four LED floodlights. A ground heater uses hydronic heat and insulated hose on a reel to thaw ground or cure concrete in winter.

A 40 ft office in Eagle for the 3-month minimum is $1,595/mo rent, $400 delivery and $400 pickup, plus the 12% damage waiver and 5% environmental fee on rent, plus sales tax. Upgrades and equipment add their own lines, and each month past the minimum adds another month of rent.
