A 20 ft mobile office rents from $795/mo from our yard in Gypsum, plus a zone delivery fee, and every tier uses the same jobsite-sized steel chassis. Choose Base, Grid-Free or Alpine according to available power, communications needs and the way the office must present to the neighborhood or client.
Start with the constraint that will not change after mobilization. If temporary power will reach the office, Base keeps the configuration simple; if shore power will never reach it, Grid-Free carries the larger battery and integrated communications package; if that same independence needs exterior appearance and weather protection, Alpine is the purpose-built choice.
All three are ground-level offices rather than wheeled trailers. The steel container sits where our truck places it, so crews enter near grade and do not spend the season climbing trailer stairs. The answer to what a ground-level office is explains that distinction, while the container office versus office trailer comparison covers the practical tradeoffs.
The common footprint is useful on a constrained laydown yard. Under ISO 668, the exterior is 20 ft long, 8 ft wide and 8 ft 6 in tall, so the superintendent can mark a real rectangle on the logistics plan instead of leaving a vague “office area.” For projects considering more meeting space and an enclosed bathroom, compare the 40 ft bathroom office and read the 20 ft versus 40 ft office guide.
The three tiers are not a ladder that every project needs to climb. Base is the right operational decision when power is dependable, Grid-Free solves an actual utility gap, and Alpine adds its mountain envelope to that off-grid system for a visible or winter-exposure requirement. Pay for the condition on your site, not for a label.
Make that decision with the people who own the constraint. Ask the electrical contractor when usable temporary service will reach the marked pad, ask the superintendent which loads must survive an outage, and ask the client whether the office sits inside a controlled visual corridor. A vague answer about “power coming soon” is not the same as a scheduled connection.
Also test the choice against the next phase of work. An office placed beside early earthwork may lose its utility route or sky view when the building, crane or material racks go up. Choose the tier and location from the current logistics sequence so the office does not need an avoidable mid-rental move.
The monthly rates, deposits and terms are published before you reserve. Compare the three tiers in the table, then add the delivery zone and any recurring upgrades to the job forecast.

Base rents for $795/mo when the site has power or the electrical contractor will bring temporary power to the placement. Grid-Free rents for $1,495/mo when the office must operate without shore power. Alpine rents for $1,895/mo when that site also calls for a more finished exterior.
The reservation deposit holds a specific unit and delivery window and is applied to the first invoice under Rental Agreement §2. Rent starts on delivery and runs through the applicable minimum term; afterward it continues month to month until written pickup notice and retrieval. Rates increase 5% on each anniversary of delivery, and sales tax is extra.
The recurring invoice also includes the environmental fee of 5% of rent plus recurring upgrades. The damage-waiver option is 12% of the same base and covers accidental damage subject to its deductible and exclusions; it is not insurance. The alternative protection route requires a refundable deposit equal to one month's rent and a certificate of insurance under Rental Agreement §10.
Delivery is separate because one truck movement into Gypsum is different from a haul to Vail, Aspen or Denver: Gypsum is Zone A — $400 each way, Vail is Zone B — $550 each way, Aspen is Zone C — $750 each way and Denver is Zone E — $1,200 each way. Check published pricing and the delivery-zone schedule before assigning the office to a cost code. Zone F placements such as Jackson, Wyoming work differently: delivery is $1,795, pickup is quoted in writing before delivery, and the minimum term is 12 months.
Every tier begins as a 20 ft ISO container office. It has a 36-inch steel personnel door, two barred slider windows, mini-split heat and cooling, interior lights, outlets and a vinyl-plank floor. Base has a 50-amp shore-power inlet; Grid-Free and Alpine add their own solar array and 10 kWh battery.
The personnel door gives daily access without opening cargo doors. Two windows bring in daylight while exterior bars add a physical layer at the openings. The finished floor can be swept and cleaned at turnover, and the lights and outlets support the ordinary plan-review, charging and laptop work a superintendent does between site walks.
The mini-split handles heating and cooling when supplied by the tier's intended power source. On Base, a licensed electrician connects site electricity only through the provided inlet under Rental Agreement §7. Grid-Free and Alpine include the system required to run that HVAC without shore power, rather than asking the smaller POWER upgrade to do a job it is not designed to do.

| Upgrades that still stack | WATCH, CONNECT, POWER, READY or JOLT PACK | READY, second camera or unlimited Starlink | READY, second camera or unlimited Starlink |
The table separates included systems from options. It also prevents a common planning error: adding the small POWER kit to Base and expecting it to run the mini-split. POWER supports Starlink, a camera, lights and laptops, not HVAC; choose Grid-Free or Alpine if the office needs heating and cooling where shore power will not arrive.
For a detailed inclusion checklist, see what is included in a mobile office rental. That distinction matters when comparing bids that bundle furniture, data or power differently; what ships from our yard is exactly what the reservation flow shows for the tier you pick.
Base can take the office and container options on the upgrade hub. WATCH adds a solar LTE panoramic camera with motion alerts and cloud clips. CONNECT adds Starlink Mini, a router and its published Roam data plan, while POWER combines solar panels, an LFP battery and an inverter for communications, lights and laptops.
JOLT PACK bundles WATCH, CONNECT and POWER when all three functions are needed on Base. It is not a substitute for Grid-Free's or Alpine's larger HVAC-capable battery. Choose the bundle when shore power serves the mini-split but the field team wants an independent layer for internet, observation and desk loads.
READY turns an empty room into a usable field office with a plan table, two chairs, a whiteboard, a mini-fridge, a microwave and a portable heater. It makes sense when the superintendent needs the unit ready for a morning coordination meeting rather than wants to transport furniture from another project. The kit bills monthly and remains JOLT equipment.
Grid-Free and Alpine already include WATCH, CONNECT and POWER, so those lines should not be added again. READY, a second camera and unlimited Starlink can still stack. Alpine also includes the exterior envelope, covered entry and backup heat.
Upgrade hardware is fitted in our yard before delivery and can also be added during a rental. Starlink, LTE and solar depend on sky view, weather and load, and uptime is not promised under Rental Agreement §13. If WATCH records the site, the customer handles required notice, signage and consent.
BRAND is a separate removable-vinyl option for projects where the office faces a client entrance or public road. JOLT applies the marks in the yard before delivery, and the vinyl remains JOLT property. Coordinate artwork through the logo-branding details rather than attaching signs or drilling the shell in the field.
Order upgrades around a defined field routine. READY supports meetings and document work, WATCH supports remote review of the area in its view, and CONNECT supports the internet-dependent tasks assigned to that office. Naming the routine keeps a useful kit from becoming an unused invoice line.
Plan the equipment around exposure as well. Solar hardware needs sky view, communications need a workable signal path, and furniture must leave the door and mechanical equipment accessible. A location screened by a future structure may be good for appearance but poor for solar and satellite service.
Mark a firm, level and well-drained location before dispatch. A 20 ft unit requires about 70 ft of straight-line clearance for the tilt-bed or flatbed truck, plus workable road width, turning room, grade and overhead clearance. Walk the route for gates, eaves, limbs, power lines, temporary services, parked equipment and material piles.
Locate and mark utilities. The customer is responsible for permits, zoning approval, HOA or landlord consent, and for having a representative present when our truck arrives. The driver places the office where that representative directs, and site damage caused by a directed placement remains the customer's responsibility.
Power planning should follow the tier decision. For Base, have a licensed electrician connect electricity through the provided 50-amp inlet; do not cut, drill or improvise another utility path. For Grid-Free and Alpine, preserve solar exposure and keep panels, the condenser, roof, doors and access paths clear of snow, ice and debris.
Do not use any tier as a residence or for overnight sleeping. Hazardous materials, stacking, welding, cutting, drilling and painting are prohibited, as is removing JOLT signage, telematics or cameras. Those controls protect the unit and keep the agreed configuration intact through retrieval.
If the job footprint changes, do not lift or move the office with site equipment. JOLT relocates it on site for $450 with our truck. Damage from an unauthorized move is excluded from the damage waiver.
Reserve online after the tier, job address and placement are known. The standard delivery window is 2–4 weeks from reservation, and the availability badge at the top of the page shows whether units can be reserved or are on a waitlist. The confirmation ties a specific unit to the selected window.
Only Base can use JOLT Express. For $750, paid at reservation, an eligible Base office is on site within 7 business days. Express does not apply to Grid-Free or Alpine, and it changes timing rather than site-preparation, access or delivery-fee requirements.
Our truck leaves the Gypsum yard with selected upgrades already fitted. At the site, your representative identifies the approved placement and keeps workers and equipment clear while the driver sets the office. A failed trip caused by inaccessible or unprepared conditions is charged under Rental Agreement §5.
The receiving representative should have authority to settle the final orientation. Door swing, window view, condenser clearance, snow storage and the electrician's route all depend on which way the box faces. Marking only the center of the pad leaves too much to decide while the truck is waiting.
Photograph the clear route and marked placement during the pre-delivery walk, then check them again on delivery morning. Active sites change quickly, and a newly staged lift or pile of forms can consume the straight approach even though yesterday's plan was correct. Keep the dispatch contact reachable by phone if conditions change.
Mountain routes reward an honest access review. Snow storage, spring mud, steep approaches and active crane picks can all occupy the same space the delivery truck needs, even when the marked pad itself is sound. The rental process gives the field team a shared sequence from reservation through retrieval.

For cost planning, mobile office trailer rental pricing and the answer on Denver jobsite office cost explain how monthly rent and zone transport fit together. Use the actual placement address in reservation rather than assuming the nearest town controls the route.
Send at least 15 days' written notice when the office is ready to leave. The unit must be empty, clean, accessible and free of customer attachments, and rent continues until our truck retrieves it. Property left inside is deemed abandoned under Rental Agreement §16.
Restore the delivery route before pickup day. Move vehicles and stored materials, clear snow and debris, and make sure the truck can reach the same placement without crossing new soft ground or unmarked utilities. A failed pickup trip is charged, so the closeout walk should include logistics as well as the interior.
In Zones A through E, the pickup fee equals the delivery fee. For Zone F, which carries a 12-month minimum, pickup is quoted in writing before delivery so the full transport arrangement is documented before the office leaves Gypsum. Do not move the unit toward the gate yourself; leave retrieval and any interim relocation to our truck.
Remove records, food, tools and personal property, then sweep the vinyl-plank floor and remove customer-applied material. Do not remove JOLT hardware, cameras, telematics, branding vinyl or signs. Once retrieval is complete, the rental can close against the returned equipment and final condition.
Close the utility side at the same time. Have the licensed electrician disconnect customer power from the provided inlet, remove site-owned distribution equipment and leave the truck route unobstructed. Confirm that the project contact who requested pickup can answer any final access question before dispatch.
Pick the unit, enter the jobsite ZIP and the term. The lines below come from the same quote the reservation flow builds, so the total here is the total you see before you pay the deposit.
Then $1,749.15/month through a 3-month term. Delivery and pickup are priced by zone once you enter the job ZIP.
