Delivery in Gypsum is Zone A$400 each way from our yard, which is in town, so the trip is a few minutes rather than the 36 road miles to Vail. Local industrial, airport-area and building sites usually need secure storage, a heated field office and controlled access; every published rate is in the price table further down.

What does being in the yard's town change?

Gypsum is the starting point for every run in our Colorado service area. Our yard sits off I-70 at the west end of the Eagle River valley, so a Gypsum address is the simplest truck trip in our territory even though the published delivery window still applies.

The local position makes a pre-delivery site visit realistic to arrange when a superintendent is uncertain about the approach, pad or door orientation. It does not turn a reservation into same-day delivery, but it gives our team a practical way to inspect a questionable turn before the assigned delivery day.

Units are staged and inspected at the yard before our truck leaves. Selected upgrades can be fitted there, and the driver starts with the placement notes, contact and address attached to the reservation rather than transferring the unit through another carrier.

Pickup scheduling also begins nearby, which can simplify coordination when a phase ends unexpectedly. You still provide at least 15 days' written notice, keep the unit accessible and pay rent until retrieval under Rental Agreement §16.

A swap or an on-site move remains a scheduled truck operation. You may not move or tow a unit yourself, and an on-site relocation is $450 after we review access to the new pad.

How should a Gypsum crew plan the delivery route?

I-70 Exit 140 serves Gypsum, while US-6 runs through town and continues east toward Eagle. The best approach depends on the exact address, construction traffic and whether our loaded tilt-bed can enter, align and leave without backing through active work.

Distance alone does not determine whether a set is easy. A loaded delivery truck is heavier than a pickup, and a short local driveway can still fail if it has soft fill, a sharp breakover, low branches or no straight line to the pad.

Route or site conditionWhat the field team should verify
I-70 Exit 140 approachWork-zone turns and a clear final entrance
US-6 frontageSafe entry, gate width and room to leave
Airport-area propertySite authority, marked route and overhead clearance
New graded lotFirm compaction, drainage and final pad elevation
Active industrial yardEquipment moved out of the truck's alignment lane

For a 20 ft unit, preserve about 70 ft of straight-line clearance. A 40 ft unit calls for about 100 ft, and both routes need adequate road width, turning radius, grade and overhead clearance under Rental Agreement §5.

The customer marks underground and overhead utilities and provides a representative at delivery. That person should know the intended door direction and have authority to select the final spot, because we place the equipment where that representative directs.

Paint the proposed corners and photograph the route before dispatch. Remove vehicles, pallets and temporary barriers from the line, then check again on delivery morning because a concrete truck or subcontractor trailer can change an otherwise workable plan.

Our standard window is 2–4 weeks from reservation. JOLT Express puts only the 20 ft Base office on site within 7 business days for $750; it is not an option for storage, other office tiers, fence or equipment.

Which container size fits the work happening here?

American Gypsum operates a wallboard plant and mine in Gypsum, per the American Gypsum website, and the town takes its name from the deposits. Industrial work, residential construction and service operations do not use storage the same way, so choose around daily access and truck space rather than ordering by length alone.

The 20 ft storage container is a one-trip, standard-height ISO box with cargo doors, four lock bars and a welded lockbox. It has no windows or man door, making it a direct choice for palletized material, boxed fixtures and tools that crews access through the end.

A 40 ft high-cube storage container provides twice the floor of the 20 ft unit and stands 9 ft 6 in tall. Its longer set needs the larger straight approach, and its 3-month minimum suits a sustained phase better than a short cleanup.

For repeated worker entry, the 12 ft storage container works as a walk-in tool crib. It is 8 ft wide at standard height, with a man door and one barred window on the long side plus cargo doors at the end.

The 10 ft storage container has half the floor of a 20 ft and the same walk-in pattern of a man door, barred window and end cargo doors. It belongs on constrained pads where the longer box or its truck alignment will not fit.

Read what one-trip means before treating that term as a promise about an untouched exterior. For a placement decision, how much delivery space a container needs explains why the truck path matters as much as the box footprint.

What permits and approvals come before placement?

Sites inside municipal limits go through the Town of Gypsum at Town Hall. A parcel outside those limits goes through Eagle County Community Development, so confirm jurisdiction from the actual placement address instead of assuming that a Gypsum mailing address settles it.

Eagle County Community Development's Building division is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., per the Eagle County website. The county has adopted the 2021 International Codes and the 2023 National Electrical Code through its Building Resolution.

County design roof snow loads come from the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado's "Colorado Design Snow Loads" study referenced by that resolution, also per the Eagle County website. We do not decide whether a permit, electrical review or site approval applies; the project team asks the authority with jurisdiction before reservation.

The Eagle County jobsite office permit guide gives you a useful question list for that call. Bring the placement duration, unit type, proposed address, power plan and a simple site sketch so staff can answer for the actual use.

Permits, zoning approvals, HOA consents and landlord permissions are the customer's responsibility under Rental Agreement §5. Keep the approval with the field file, and make sure any required inspection sequence is understood before the delivery window begins.

Work near the airport adds a layer of property coordination. Eagle County Regional Airport is at 219 Eldon Wilson Road in Gypsum, per the Eagle County website, and a container placed on or beside airport property needs the airport's own access approval and escort rules settled before the delivery day, on top of the building permit.

How do power and communications work at a local site?

The 20 ft office family starts with an 8 ft by 8 ft 6 in Base office. It has a 36-inch steel personnel door, two barred slider windows, mini-split heat and cooling, lights, outlets, vinyl-plank floor and a 50-amp shore-power inlet.

Choose the Grid-Free office where temporary electrical service is not ready. It includes WATCH, CONNECT and POWER, and its 10 kWh battery runs the HVAC without shore power; solar and communications still depend on sunlight, terrain, sky view, weather and network conditions.

The Alpine office uses the Base interior approach with a matte-black exterior, cedar surrounds, standing-seam over-roof, covered entry deck and backup heat. It does not automatically include the camera, satellite internet or solar system, though those upgrades can be added.

A 40 ft office with bathroom gives a larger office with an enclosed bathroom at the far end. It also uses a 50-amp shore-power inlet and includes mini-split heating and cooling, lights, outlets and vinyl-plank flooring.

POWER adds two 400 W panels, a 3 kWh LFP battery and inverter to a storage container or office. CONNECT supplies Starlink Mini with a router and 50 GB Roam, while WATCH adds a solar LTE camera.

For field setup, READY adds a plan table, 2 chairs, whiteboard, mini-fridge, microwave and 1,500 W heater. JOLT PACK combines WATCH, CONNECT and POWER when a unit other than Grid-Free needs all three.

Map the likely solar exposure and sky view before choosing an off-grid arrangement. A nearby yard does not remove site limitations, and temporary power availability can change as grading, framing and permanent service advance.

What does elevation change for winter placement?

Gypsum's elevation is 6,401 ft according to USGS GNIS. It is the lowest Eagle County town we serve and generally has a shorter snow season than Vail, but freezing weather, drifting snow and spring thaw still affect access.

Prepare drainage before the unit arrives instead of cutting a shallow ditch after it is loaded. The pad must remain firm, level and well drained, with runoff directed away from the container and with the truck lane protected from soft shoulders.

Winter operations need space around doors, condensers, solar panels and the pickup route. Assign snow storage outside the straight approach so a plow pile does not turn 70 ft of usable lane into 50 ft when retrieval is requested.

A light tower provides a trailer-mounted mast reaching about 30 ft with four LED floodlights and a generator cabinet. A ground heater is a trailer-mounted hydronic unit with insulated hose on a reel for thawing ground and curing concrete in winter.

Control a changing work edge with temporary fence, made from galvanized chain-link panels 6 ft tall by 10 ft wide with tube stands and clamps. Traffic control ranges from a Basic set of 25 cones, 6 Type II barricades and 2 sign stands through a Full set that adds a solar arrow board and 2 flashing barricade lights.

A portable hand-wash station can accompany any unit or be ordered alone. Locate support equipment where snow service can reach it without blocking the delivery truck, worker path or emergency route.

What does the complete Gypsum rental cost?

Gypsum is assigned by delivery ZIP to Zone A under our delivery zones. A ZIP outside the published table receives a quote by text rather than a fee inferred from the nearest town.

Other valley addresses need their own lookup: Edwards, Avon and Beaver Creek are listed separately. Use each job's ZIP even when one company manages several sites.

A 20 ft Base office in Gypsum for the 3-month minimum is $795/mo rent, $400 delivery and $400 pickup, plus the 12% damage waiver and 5% environmental fee on rent, plus sales tax. Upgrades add their own monthly line, and a longer stay simply extends the rent line month by month.

Rent only, plus applicable sales tax. Damage waiver 12% and environmental fee 5% are added to rent; delivery is by zone.

The reservation deposit is applied to the first invoice under Rental Agreement §2. Rent is due for the full minimum term, then continues month to month until 15 days' written pickup notice and retrieval under Rental Agreement §3.

The damage waiver is 12% of rent plus recurring upgrades, and theft is excluded. The alternative is a refundable deposit of one month's rent plus a certificate of insurance; review Rental Agreement §12 for the exclusions instead of assuming every loss is covered.

How do you reserve for a Gypsum address?

Reserve online with the site address, unit, contact and requested timing, or use the quote form further down the page and we will call you back. We review the route and confirm the delivery window by text rather than promising a specific arrival date.

Your deposit reserves the unit and window and is applied to the first invoice. Written cancellation received more than 14 days before the first day of that window is free; otherwise the deposit is forfeited under Rental Agreement §2.2.

Before the truck rolls, confirm that permits are in hand, corners and utilities are marked, the representative is available and the route is clear. If delivery fails because of site conditions, access, weather or no representative, the first trip and next trip are both charged.

Questions contractors ask

What is the delivery charge for a Gypsum jobsite?

Gypsum is in Zone A at $400 each way. Every trip starts at our yard in town, so a Gypsum address is the shortest run we make.

Can a Gypsum site get same-day container delivery?

No. Standard delivery has a 2–4 week window from reservation even in the yard's own town. The 20 ft Base office alone is eligible for JOLT Express, which puts it on site within 7 business days for $750.

How much straight access does the delivery truck need?

A 20 ft unit needs about 70 ft of straight-line clearance, while a 40 ft unit needs about 100 ft. The route also needs safe width, turning room and overhead clearance.

Which office has the shortest minimum term?

Every office has a 3-month minimum, including the 20 ft Base, Grid-Free and Alpine offices and the 40 ft office with bathroom.

Who handles permits for a container in Gypsum?

Ask the Town of Gypsum for a site inside town limits and Eagle County Community Development for a site outside them. Have the approval in hand before the 2–4 week delivery window opens.

What storage box works as a walk-in tool crib?

The 12 ft and 10 ft storage units each have a man door and a barred window on the long side plus cargo doors on the end. Both rent on a 1-month minimum.

What happens if the prepared pad cannot take delivery?

If our truck arrives and cannot set the unit because of site conditions, access, weather or no representative, you owe the $400 delivery fee for that trip plus the fee for the next trip.

How far ahead must I cancel a Gypsum reservation?

Written cancellation received more than 14 days before the first day of the delivery window is free. At 14 days or less, the reservation deposit is forfeited.
