Where does temporary panel fence work?

This is a freestanding perimeter made from galvanized chain-link panels, not a permanent fence set in the ground. Each panel is 6 ft tall and 10 ft wide, supported in steel tube stands and joined with clamps.

Construction teams use it to separate active work from a public edge, define controlled approaches and close gaps as the building footprint changes. It is particularly useful when excavation, paving or restoration means a permanent line cannot be installed.

For events and festivals, panels can shape back-of-house areas, equipment compounds and routes around temporary operations. Event teams should coordinate the panel drawing with their broader events and festivals plan, because openings, emergency planning and public circulation affect the usable layout.

Municipal work often needs a perimeter that can move as a street, park or utility phase advances. Wildfire staging uses can include separating logistics, supplies and crew-only work areas, provided the responsible agency decides the required layout and keeps apparatus routes open.

The fence defines space; it does not replace the superintendent's access-control plan, lighting, material management or daily inspection. The jobsite theft answer shows how perimeter control fits with storage and monitoring rather than treating one barrier as the entire security program.

JOLT does not state OSHA or municipal fence requirements for your job. Review jobsite fence requirements in Colorado and OSHA context, then confirm the actual plan with the authority, venue, owner and safety team responsible for the site.

What does fence rental cost?

Monthly rent is calculated from the installed linear footage at $3.50/LF/mo. Installation is a one-time $1.75 per linear foot, and removal is a one-time $1.75 per linear foot.

The reservation deposit is $500 and is applied to the first invoice. It reserves specific equipment and a delivery window under Rental Agreement §2; it is not an extra charge on top of rent.

The minimum term is 1 month. After that minimum, rent continues month to month until the required written pickup notice is given and JOLT retrieves the panels, so the site schedule should carry fence through actual demobilization.

Delivery is priced by the destination's published zone. Pickup equals delivery in Zones A–E, while a Zone F pickup is quoted in writing before delivery and every Zone F placement has a 12-month minimum.

Recurring invoices also carry the 5% environmental fee and sales tax. Rates increase 5% on each anniversary of delivery, a line that matters if a long civil or municipal program keeps the perimeter beyond its first year.

The measured installed line, not a rough map scale, controls the recurring quantity. The temporary fence cost guide helps an estimator keep monthly footage separate from one-time installation, removal, delivery and pickup rather than quoting one bundled total.

Cancellation must be in writing more than 14 days before the first day of the delivery window for a full deposit refund. Inside 14 days, or when delivery is refused, the deposit is forfeited under Rental Agreement §2.

What is included in the installed line?

JOLT supplies galvanized chain-link panels measuring 6 ft tall by 10 ft wide. Steel tube stands and panel clamps are part of the installed system, and JOLT performs both initial installation and final removal. Whether a run needs added ballast depends on the site's wind exposure and is settled in the layout review before installation, not assumed from the photographs.

No gates are included in the published price. The field team should mark required access openings on the layout and discuss them before reservation; an opening is a planned gap in the panel run, and gate hardware is not part of the published price.

The photographs on this page show a JOLT-branded privacy screen on some installations; screen is not part of the published per-foot price, and neither is windscreen. Do not base a bid on either material being supplied. If the site needs screening, ask when you reserve, and do not attach any material to the panels without JOLT's written consent.

The customer is responsible for keeping the rented equipment secure and complete between installation and retrieval. Missing clamps and stands are charged at the amounts in Rental Agreement §9.4, and other missing accessories at replacement cost plus 25%.

Keep the fence route clear of excavation spoils, stored material and parked machines. Daily site walks should flag a shifted stand, loose connection, displaced ballast or blocked opening for correction before work begins around that area.

How do you calculate the panel count?

Begin with a marked plan of every straight run. Divide the total linear feet by the 10 ft width of one panel, then round up to a whole panel because JOLT cannot install a fraction of a panel.

That first division is only the baseline. Corners, returns, offsets and planned openings can add panels or change how adjacent runs meet, so a rectangular perimeter should not be ordered from total footage alone without checking each side.

Use the panel calculator for a planning quantity, then give JOLT the site drawing and access points. That page also explains why a measured walk and a layout review catch more than a perimeter number copied from civil drawings.

For example, mark each construction entrance, worker entrance and material opening before counting. Then break the fence into straight segments between those points, divide each segment by 10 ft and round that segment up before accounting for corners and offsets.

An event layout needs the same discipline. A nominal perimeter can change when production adds a tent, generator compound, vendor route or backstage opening, so make one person responsible for the current drawing rather than sending conflicting counts from operations and security.

On a changing construction site, estimate the opening phase and the next major phase. If the fence will move, identify that expected change during reservation; JOLT equipment may not be moved, altered or reinstalled by the customer without authorization.

Do upgrades stack on temporary fence?

WATCH, CONNECT, POWER, READY and JOLT PACK do not install on or stack with temporary fence. Fence is rented as fence equipment, and its published pricing is limited to footage, installation, removal, transport and applicable recurring charges.

If the site needs a camera view along the perimeter, put WATCH on an eligible container next to the fence line. WATCH is a solar LTE panoramic camera with motion alerts and cloud clips; its view depends on placement, LTE conditions and the customer's recording signage and consents.

A 20 ft storage container can create a controlled material room beside that line and provide the eligible mounting unit for WATCH. Place it where the camera has a useful view but our truck can still retrieve the container without dismantling the site plan unexpectedly.

JOLT PACK likewise does not stack on the fence itself. The JOLT PACK details are relevant only if an office or storage container near the perimeter also needs WATCH, CONNECT and POWER.

On the invoice, fence footage is its own line; camera and communications hardware bill against the container they are mounted on, at their own published monthly rates.

What does the site need for installation?

Give JOLT a current plan showing the requested perimeter, corners and openings. The route should be reachable from the delivery vehicle and clear enough for crews to unload, carry and stand the 10 ft panels without crossing active lifting, trenching or public operations.

The fence line needs a usable surface for steel tube stands. Remove debris, stored pipe, snow piles and other conflicts before installation, and resolve places where a panel line would cross an active access route or prevent drainage work.

The customer remains responsible for permits, zoning, landlord or venue permission and the required safety layout. JOLT installs the rented panels to the agreed line, but does not decide what regulation requires for a specific construction project, event or municipal operation.

Delivery to Edwards is Zone A$400 each way. Carbondale and Frisco are Zone C$750 each way, while Arvada and Centennial are Zone E$1,200 each way.

Those town assignments change transport cost, not panel size or the monthly per-foot rate. Check pricing and the zone before issuing a purchase order so the estimator includes both recurring fence footage and each transport leg.

Utilities should be located and marked, even though these panels sit in stands rather than post holes. The installation route can still cross temporary power, hose, drainage or other site systems that the superintendent must identify and protect.

What about wind, windscreen and banners?

Freestanding panel fence relies on its stands, and on whatever ballast is set at installation, rather than on posts in the ground, so wind is the load that matters. Open chain-link lets most of a gust through; windscreen, banner mesh, tarps and sponsor signage do not. Each covered panel behaves like a sail, and a line that stood through a winter on an exposed ridge can go over in an afternoon once a crew zip-ties fabric to it. Do not attach windscreen, banners or signs to the rented panels without JOLT's written consent under Rental Agreement §7; if the event or the project needs screening, raise it at reservation so the line can be reviewed with that load in mind.

Walk the line after every major wind event and after plowing. Check that stands sit flat, any ballast has not been moved, clamps are tight and no panel has been lifted out of its stand to make a shortcut. A displaced panel is a customer responsibility from delivery through retrieval, and a fence that has been opened for convenience is not a perimeter.

How do delivery and installation work?

Submit the job address, requested footage, site plan and delivery window through reserve. JOLT reviews the layout, applies the destination zone and confirms the reserved equipment after the deposit is paid.

The standard delivery window is 2–4 weeks from reservation. JOLT Express is not available for fence, so schedule backward from the date the perimeter has to be operational rather than relying on the Base-office service.

Our truck brings the panels, stands and clamps from Gypsum. JOLT unloads and installs the agreed run; the customer's representative should be present to confirm the line and planned openings before the work closes off site circulation.

If field conditions differ from the submitted drawing, stop and settle the revised route with the installer. Adding a corner, shifting around newly staged materials or preserving a larger opening can alter the footage and panel count.

The complete reservation-to-retrieval sequence is at how it works. Share it with event operations or the project engineer who will own the fence after installation, because responsibility continues throughout the rental rather than ending when the installer leaves.

What happens at removal?

Give at least 15 days' written pickup notice. Rent continues until JOLT retrieves the fence, so align notice with the date the perimeter can actually come down and the crew can reach every panel.

Before removal, clear stored material, vehicles, snow and debris from both sides of the line. Restore access to stands that were boxed in by later work and identify any opening that must remain usable while dismantling proceeds.

JOLT removes the panels and support equipment for $1.75 per linear foot. Customers should not dismantle or move the system themselves; keeping the installed set together also makes clamps, stands and any ballast easier to account for.

Check the line with JOLT at handoff and resolve missing rented items under Rental Agreement §9. A failed retrieval trip is charged under Rental Agreement §16, so confirm that the site is accessible before our truck leaves Gypsum.
