What does a year of rent cost in Montana?

Build the job cost from four separate lines: monthly rent, the Zone F delivery leg, the written pickup quote and any selected upgrades. The published pricing page supplies the current rates, while the delivery-zone schedule explains why every Montana ZIP prefix from 590 through 599 belongs to Zone F.

A Base 20 ft office is $795/mo, a 20 ft storage container is $295/mo and a 40 ft high-cube storage container is $425/mo. Temporary fence is billed at $3.50/LF/mo, with installation and removal priced separately per linear foot, so the site plan must identify the actual perimeter rather than an allowance.

The reservation deposit reserves a specific unit and delivery window and applies to the first invoice under Rental Agreement §2. Office, storage, fence and equipment deposits differ; assign the selected unit and its deposit to the mobilization forecast instead of treating the deposit as another month of rent.

Rent and recurring charges bill monthly in advance. The rate is fixed through the first twelve months, then increases 5% on each anniversary of delivery under Rental Agreement §3. The environmental fee is 5% of rent plus recurring upgrades.

Damage protection also belongs in the estimate. The damage waiver costs 12% of rent plus recurring upgrades and waives JOLT's claim for accidental damage subject to a deductible and exclusions; it is not insurance. Without it, the customer provides property insurance for full replacement value and general liability certificates before delivery.

Montana has no general statewide sales tax, according to the Montana Department of Revenue. A resort district may impose its own tax on items it classifies as taxable, and Rental Agreement §4 makes the customer responsible for applicable sales, use, personal-property and similar taxes; a tax-exempt customer supplies its certificate before delivery.

A year-long project can compare rent against ownership using the rental versus buying break-even factors. Include transport, the required minimum term, care and retrieval in that decision rather than comparing a purchase offer with one month of rent.

How does a 680-mile delivery work?

Our truck takes the same road north that serves Jackson: CO-131 and US-40 to Craig, WY-789 to I-80, US-191 through Rock Springs and Pinedale to Jackson, then WY-22 and ID-33 over 8,431 ft Teton Pass, ID-32 to Ashton, US-20 over Targhee Pass at the Montana line, and US-191 north from West Yellowstone through the Gallatin Canyon. Big Sky is the turn at Lone Mountain Trail; Bozeman-bound loads continue down the canyon to Four Corners. Other Montana routes branch from I-90 once the truck reaches the Gallatin Valley.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration hours-of-service rules allow a property-carrying driver no more than 11 driving hours after 10 consecutive hours off duty. JOLT therefore plans a Montana delivery as a two-day trip for one driver, but that planning assumption does not create a promised delivery day.

The standard delivery window is 2–4 weeks from reservation. Montana DOT's 511 service reports closures and chain requirements, WYDOT's covers Teton Pass, and conditions at either pass or in the Gallatin Canyon can affect movement within that window; the field contact should watch the same route information before the planned arrival.

Before dispatch, prepare a firm, level, well-drained placement and a clear route for our tilt-bed or flatbed. A 20 ft unit needs about 70 ft of straight-line clearance and a 40 ft unit about 100 ft, together with adequate road width, turning radius, grade and overhead clearance. Locate and mark utilities, clear parked equipment and material, and have the designated representative present. Under Rental Agreement §5, if our truck cannot deliver because of access, site conditions, weather or an absent representative, the delivery fee for that trip is owed along with the fee for the next trip.

An ISO container's width does not by itself require an oversize-width permit. ISO 668 gives the standard container width as 8 ft, while 23 CFR 658.15 sets federal legal vehicle width at 8 ft 6 in, or 102 inches. Where in Montana does JOLT place units?

Montana work follows several long corridors rather than one metro pattern. The table identifies the operating context a project manager should put on the request; the actual address still controls route review, placement and the written pickup quote.

Billings anchors refinery, rail and medical work on I-90, while Butte and Helena sit on the I-15 spine. Missoula lies west on I-90; Kalispell, Whitefish and the Flathead Valley follow US-93 and are the farthest Montana markets from Gypsum. Great Falls extends the I-15 route north.

Who issues permits for a container office in Montana?

Start by determining whether the placement falls inside a certified local building program. Montana's Department of Labor & Industry lists Bozeman, Belgrade, Livingston, Billings, Helena, Kalispell, Whitefish, and the City and County of Missoula among jurisdictions with certified programs, although their listed disciplines and boundaries differ.

Bozeman's listed building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pool and wildland-urban-interface jurisdiction applies within city limits. Belgrade and Livingston likewise have certified programs within their city limits. Gallatin and Madison counties do not have certified local building programs, so a building permit outside those cities, where one is required, runs through the state Building Codes Program.

Building review and land-use approval are separate. County planning handles zoning outside incorporated jurisdictions, and a landowner, landlord, HOA or private club may also require consent. Rental Agreement §5.2 places permits, zoning, approvals and consents with the customer, so resolve each authority before the delivery window.

Permitted use does not change the rental use restrictions. A unit is not a residence and may not be used for overnight sleeping or hazardous materials; stacking, welding, cutting, drilling and painting are prohibited. Base and 40 ft office utilities connect only through provided inlets by a licensed electrician, and the customer may not remove JOLT signage, telematics or cameras.

Give the permitting authority an accurate unit description. A 20 ft office is 20 ft by 8 ft by 8 ft 6 in under ISO 668, while the 40 ft storage unit is a 9 ft 6 in high cube. Do not describe a storage box as an occupied office or omit a bathroom from a 40 ft bathroom-office inquiry.

How do you power and heat a unit through a Montana winter?

Choose the office around its actual power source before choosing its pad. The Grid-Free 20 ft office includes a 10 kWh battery that runs its mini-split HVAC without shore power, plus WATCH, CONNECT and POWER. Its solar, satellite and cellular performance still depends on weather, terrain, sky view, sunlight, networks and load.

The separate POWER upgrade has two 400 W panels, a 3 kWh LFP battery and an inverter. It can run Starlink, a camera, lights and laptops, but not the mini-split; the off-grid solar and battery guide helps distinguish desk loads from HVAC loads.

The Alpine office uses the same solar array and 10 kWh battery as Grid-Free, with no shore power required, and adds a standing-seam over-roof, covered entry deck and backup heat. Its exterior package does not remove the customer's duty to maintain access.

Through the first winter, clear snow, ice and debris from roofs, condensers, panels, doors and access paths. The customer bears risk of loss from delivery through retrieval, including snow load, except as covered by a damage waiver in effect; that waiver excludes damage caused by failure to clear snow or ice.

The practical heating review starts with the winter container-office answer: identify the HVAC source, preserve condenser clearance and keep the door route usable. Report damage or malfunction immediately rather than allowing an icing or power problem to continue.

For cold-weather field production, ground heaters thaw ground and support winter concrete curing with insulated hose on a reel. Light towers put four LED floodlights on a mast reaching about 30 ft, useful when December and January daylight is short. Fuel and electricity remain customer-supplied operating inputs.

What is different about a 12-month out-of-state term?

The 12-month minimum applies to every Montana unit, even equipment with a shorter usual minimum elsewhere. Rent remains due for that full term whether the unit is used or early pickup is requested; early termination requires the remaining minimum-term rent, the pickup fee and accrued charges.

After the minimum term, the rental continues month to month until JOLT receives at least 15 days' written pickup notice and retrieves the equipment. The anniversary rate adjustment applies if the rental crosses an anniversary, so a month-to-month extension after the first year uses the adjusted rate.

Pickup is not charged at the delivery amount. JOLT quotes it in writing before delivery, giving the project both transport terms before mobilization. Rent continues until retrieval, not merely until the notice date or the day the crew stops using the unit.

During the year, keep the unit clean and secure, inspect it, and report damage or malfunction immediately. Keep service access open and do not move, lift, tow or transport the unit without JOLT's written consent; unauthorized movement voids the damage waiver.

At closeout, remove property and attachments, clean the unit and restore the truck route. A failed pickup trip is charged and rent continues, while anything left inside is deemed abandoned under Rental Agreement §16. The rental process gives the superintendent one sequence from reservation through retrieval.

Why rent from a yard on I-70 in Colorado?
