What does Beaver Creek's construction regulation mean for delivery?

Beaver Creek is a gated resort community in unincorporated Eagle County. Beaver Creek Resort Company's Construction Activities and Compliance Deposit Regulation governs construction inside the resort, while Eagle County issues permits for the structure itself.

The regulation sets regular construction hours and requires a Construction Management Plan for construction activity. Your plan should identify the delivery route, staging location and site representative before our truck reaches the gate.

Day or periodRegular construction rule
Monday through Friday7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
SundayNo construction activity
December 24 through January 5Holiday period with no construction activity

Those provisions come from Beaver Creek Resort Company's regulation, adopted in 1990 and last revised May 25, 2017. It also treats New Year's Day, Presidents' Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas as holidays with no construction activity.

Beaver Creek Public Safety can approve certain work outside regular hours when it takes place inside a fully enclosed structure. Do not assume that exception covers a truck delivery; secure the applicable approval before scheduling any activity beyond regular hours.

The Design Review Board and Design Review Administration staff administer the regulation. The design-review contact listed by Beaver Creek Resort Company is P.O. Box 5390, Avon, CO 81620 and 970-845-5858.

An owner also posts a compliance deposit scaled to the square footage of enclosed structures being built or altered. Confirm the amount directly with the resort company because it is not a JOLT charge and is separate from our reservation deposit.

Winter scheduling needs particular care because the December 24 through January 5 period removes about 2 weeks from delivery or pickup planning. Reserve around that gap, gate procedures and regular hours rather than placing a truck window inside a prohibited period.

Can our truck make the gate and hillside approach?

Our truck starts at the yard in Gypsum, travels east on I-70 to Exit 167, follows Avon Road south and climbs Village Road through the Beaver Creek gate. The highway distance is 29 miles, but grade, bends, snowbanks and driveway geometry control the last part.

You arrange gate access before arrival under your Construction Management Plan; JOLT holds no standing pass at the Beaver Creek gate. Your designated representative must be present to direct placement under Rental Agreement §5.

Send photos looking both directions from the placement, plus the full approach from the gate or private drive. The mountain container delivery access guide helps identify switchbacks, overhead obstacles, narrow walls, soft shoulders and spots where the truck cannot turn around.

A 20 ft unit requires about 70 ft of straight-line clearance, while a 40 ft unit requires about 100 ft. Those lengths are in addition to safe road width, turning radius, grade and overhead clearance, so measuring only the final pad gives an incomplete answer.

Many Beaver Creek driveways will not accept a 40 ft unit. Send us photos before reserving one, and consider a shorter box if the truck cannot align straight without crossing landscaping, a wall or another property's access.

Prepare a firm, level and well-drained pad, and locate every underground and overhead utility. A loaded tilt-bed is heavier than a pickup, so decorative paving, buried structures and soft edges deserve review before your representative directs the driver.

If site conditions, access, weather or an absent representative prevent delivery, the trip is charged along with the next attempt. JOLT places the unit where you direct, and damage to pavement, landscaping, utilities or structures from that directed placement remains your responsibility.

Which short storage unit fits a mountain lot?

Start with the truck lane and the area needed to open doors. A compact box near the work can outperform a larger container parked too far away because crews use it consistently and the superintendent can control access.

The 10 ft storage container has half the floor of a 20 ft unit and fits where a 20 ft box will not. A walk-in man door and barred side window make it useful for small tools, while end cargo doors allow larger items to move in at phase changes.

A 12 ft storage container is 8 ft wide and standard height. It combines a side man door and barred window with end cargo doors, making it a practical walk-in issue room on a hillside lot.

The 20 ft storage container is the direct material box for a site with the required 70 ft lane. It is a one-trip, standard-height ISO unit with four lock bars, a welded lockbox and cargo doors, without a man door or windows.

Select the 40 ft high-cube storage container only after confirming its 100 ft straight approach. It is 9 ft 6 in tall, provides twice the floor of a 20 ft box and carries a 3-month minimum.

Keep any size out of the snow-storage path and away from roof-shed zones. Preserve room for cargo-door leaves, daily foot traffic and eventual pickup rather than filling the remaining space with pallets after delivery.

You may not move, tow or lift a unit yourself. An approved on-site relocation is $450, allowing our truck to check the new pad instead of turning a field move into an access or damage problem.

What office works at an 8,100 ft resort base?

Beaver Creek's base elevation is 8,100 ft and its summit reaches 11,440 ft (Beaver Creek Resort mountain statistics). A field office at that height needs a defined heat, power and snow-clearing plan through the winter work phase.

The 20 ft office container is 8 ft wide and 8 ft 6 in tall. Its standard package includes a 36-inch steel personnel door, two barred slider windows, mini-split heat and cooling, a 50-amp shore-power inlet, lights, outlets and vinyl-plank flooring.

Choose the Base office when temporary shore power is ready and speed matters. It is the only unit eligible for JOLT Express, which targets on-site placement within 7 business days for $750.

The Alpine office keeps the Base equipment and adds matte black exterior treatment, cedar surrounds, a standing-seam over-roof, covered entry deck and backup heat. In a design-reviewed setting that finish is worth putting in front of the board; the Design Review Board decides, not the rental.

For a longer workspace, the 40 ft office with bathroom has an enclosed bathroom at the far end. It also has mini-split heat and cooling, a 50-amp inlet, lights, outlets and vinyl-plank flooring, and its 40 ft body needs the longer delivery lane.

Read what a ground-level office is when comparing these units with a trailer. A container office sits at ground level, yet the crew still must maintain its entry path and clear snow around doors and equipment.

Winter operation starts with shore-power capacity and routine checks, not the thermostat alone. Heating a container office in winter covers the field questions that should be assigned before the first cold morning.

How do off-grid power and communications change placement?

The Grid-Free office includes the Base features plus WATCH, CONNECT and POWER. Its 10 kWh battery pack runs the HVAC and no shore power is required, making it useful before temporary electrical service reaches a prepared pad.

POWER can also be added to storage or another office. Its two 400 W panels feed a 3 kWh LFP battery and inverter for cameras, Starlink, lights and laptops; a Base office that runs its mini-split all day still wants shore power.

CONNECT supplies Starlink Mini, a router and 50 GB Roam. Tree cover, buildings, mountain terrain and the selected placement can affect service, so find a usable sky view before locking in the box orientation.

WATCH is a solar LTE camera with motion alerts and cloud clips. Aim it along the controlled approach, maintain normal locks and access practices, and remember that theft is excluded from the damage waiver.

READY outfits an office with a plan table, 2 chairs, whiteboard, mini-fridge, microwave and 1,500 W heater. JOLT PACK combines WATCH, CONNECT and POWER for an eligible office or storage unit, while Grid-Free already has those systems built in.

The resort setting does not guarantee LTE or satellite performance. Place communications equipment after checking the actual hillside and nearby structures, then keep future material stacks from blocking the camera view or solar exposure.

How should crews manage snow, concrete and site control?

Snow falls roughly November through April at this elevation. Clear the full truck route, straight unloading lane, container doors, office entry and roof before delivery or pickup, and prevent plowing from trapping equipment in place.

A ground heater is a trailer-mounted hydronic unit with insulated hose on a reel. It can thaw ground and cure concrete in winter, but the construction manager must assign a safe trailer spot and protect hose from vehicles and sharp edges.

The light tower has 4 LED floodlights on a mast reaching about 30 ft, with its generator cabinet on a single-axle trailer. Use it only within approved work periods and orient light with neighboring properties and traffic in mind.

Temporary fence uses galvanized chain-link panels 6 ft tall by 10 ft wide with steel stands and clamps. Review Colorado jobsite fence requirements, then confirm the project-specific plan with the authority and resort administration rather than treating rented panels as automatic compliance.

A hand-wash station can accompany any unit or be ordered alone. Put it on a stable serviceable spot that does not narrow the office entry, pedestrian route or snow-clearing lane.

Traffic control packages provide known equipment sets, not approval to control a road. Basic has 25 cones, 6 Type II barricades and 2 sign stands, Standard has 50 cones, 10 Type III barricades, 8 vertical panels, 4 sign stands and 2 flagger paddles, and Full adds a solar arrow board and 2 flashing barricade lights.

What permits and prices apply to a Beaver Creek order?

Eagle County Community Development handles building permits because Beaver Creek is unincorporated. Per the Eagle County website, the county has adopted the 2021 International Codes and 2023 National Electrical Code through its Building Resolution, which references the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado's Colorado Design Snow Loads study.

Beaver Creek Resort Company separately administers its construction regulation and design review. Coordinate both tracks, plus any owner, HOA or landlord consent, before choosing the delivery window.

Beaver Creek shares ZIP 81620 with Avon, which places both in Zone A. A delivery ZIP outside the published tables is quoted by text, and the delivery-zone schedule explains assignments.

Rent only, plus applicable sales tax. Damage waiver 12% and environmental fee 5% are added to rent; delivery is by zone.

For example, an Alpine office for its 3-month minimum is $1,895/mo rent, $400 delivery and $400 pickup, plus the damage waiver and environmental fee on rent, plus sales tax. Its $750 reservation deposit is applied to the first invoice.

The damage waiver is charged on rent plus recurring upgrades, and theft is excluded. The alternative is a refundable deposit of one month's rent plus a certificate of insurance; the full list of exclusions is in Rental Agreement §12.

Compare the full pricing schedule, then use how it works to assign reservation, placement and retrieval steps. Offices and 40 ft storage have 3-month minimums, while the other storage sizes, fence and equipment have 1-month minimums.

After the minimum, rent continues month to month until at least 15 days' written pickup notice and our retrieval under Rental Agreement §3. Rates increase 5% on each anniversary of delivery.

Nearby routes serve Edwards, Eagle, Vail and Minturn as well as Beaver Creek. The Colorado service-area list gives the valid town paths, but the delivery address ZIP determines the charge.

How do you reserve equipment for Beaver Creek?

Use Reserve, or the quote form further down the page, with the unit, delivery ZIP, gate steps, representative and preferred window. We apply the deposit to the first invoice and confirm the delivery window by text after reviewing the access information.

Written cancellation received more than 14 days before the first day of the delivery window is without charge under Rental Agreement §2. Cancellation within 14 days, or failure to accept delivery, forfeits the deposit; rent later continues until retrieval, and a failed pickup is charged under Rental Agreement §16.

Questions contractors ask

What does a Beaver Creek container delivery cost?

Beaver Creek is 29 miles from our yard and is in Zone A at $400 each way.

When may construction normally occur in Beaver Creek?

Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Are deliveries allowed during Beaver Creek's winter holiday period?

The resort regulation treats December 24 through January 5 as a holiday period with no construction activity, so plan outside those 13 calendar days.

Does a Beaver Creek project need a Construction Management Plan?

Yes. Beaver Creek Resort Company's regulation requires a Construction Management Plan for construction activity inside the resort, on top of the Eagle County building permit, and its regular hours run 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Will a 40 ft container fit a Beaver Creek driveway?

It needs about 100 ft of straight-line truck clearance, and many hillside drives do not provide that length.

Which small box works as a walk-in tool crib?

The 12 ft storage unit pairs a man door and a barred window on the long side with end cargo doors, so a crew can check tools in and out all shift without swinging the big doors.

What is the standard Beaver Creek delivery window?

Standard delivery is 2–4 weeks from reservation, while Express targets 7 business days only for the Base office.

Is theft included in the damage waiver?

No. Theft is excluded from the 12% damage waiver, which is why WATCH, a solar LTE camera with motion alerts for $129/mo, is worth adding on a site with an open approach.
