JOLT and Conexwest both provide containers, but they serve a project through different operating models. JOLT publishes a Base 20 ft office rent of $795/mo and dispatches its own truck from one yard on I-70 in Gypsum.

What does JOLT do differently?

JOLT runs one focused Rocky Mountain operation rather than a nationwide depot network. Every rental starts at our yard beside I-70 in Gypsum, and our truck handles delivery and retrieval. That narrower model gives a superintendent one published rate sheet, one zone schedule and one team to discuss the route from the yard to the marked pad.

The rental fleet is one-trip ISO container equipment. Storage choices are 10, 12, 20 and 40 ft units, while office choices are a 20 ft family and a 40 ft office with a bathroom. JOLT does not offer every specialty container category Conexwest lists, and it does not claim a national depot footprint.

The office range is deliberately tiered for field decisions. Base provides a one-trip 20 ft office shell with a personnel door, two barred slider windows, mini-split heat and cooling, shore-power inlet, lights, outlets and vinyl-plank floor. Grid-Free adds built-in WATCH, CONNECT and POWER plus a larger battery configured to run its HVAC, while Alpine includes Grid-Free and adds the mountain envelope, covered entry deck and backup heat.

Upgrades can also follow the job instead of forcing every renter into the same package. WATCH is a solar LTE panoramic camera with motion alerts and cloud clips. CONNECT adds a Starlink Mini, router and included Roam plan. POWER supports the listed communications and desk loads, while READY brings a plan table, two chairs, whiteboard, mini-fridge, microwave and backup heater. JOLT also publishes the practical exit rules before the order. Offices carry a three-month minimum in Colorado, then continue month to month until proper written notice and retrieval. A renter gives at least 15 days' written pickup notice, leaves the unit empty and accessible, and continues rent until our truck retrieves it under Rental Agreement §16.

Where does Conexwest fit?

Conexwest fits a buyer who wants to shop for a plain shipping container across a broad national network. The company says it was founded in 2013, has more than 28 depots and serves 48 states. It sells new, used and refurbished shipping containers rather than limiting the offer to one-trip rental equipment (conexwest.com, about page, accessed September 2026).

That sales range matters when ownership is the main requirement. A customer looking for a basic box to own, move and maintain may value a selection that includes used and refurbished inventory. Conexwest also publishes general sale-price ranges on its Denver page and provides an online container-customization tool, though a buyer should confirm the actual unit and order total directly.

Conexwest may also fit a storage renter whose schedule needs a month-to-month arrangement from the start. Its public material describes rentals as month-to-month, takes container orders online and mentions first-month specials on select units. Those are Conexwest's stated terms; this comparison does not repeat a special or infer what a particular project would pay.

Its listed product scope is wider than JOLT's. Conexwest rents storage, office, refrigerated and specialty containers. JOLT rents container offices and storage, plus separate site equipment, but it does not present refrigerated or specialty containers as part of its container range. A project that needs one of those categories should put that requirement ahead of a superficial provider comparison.

Nationwide delivery is another fair reason to consider Conexwest. A contractor working across many states may prefer access to its depot network. Its delivery page lists tilt-bed truck, tilt-bed with trailer, flatbed truck and crane truck methods, and its about page states a lead time of 3–5 business days (conexwest.com, delivery page and about page, accessed September 2026).

How transparent are prices and rental terms?

JOLT publishes exact monthly rent for every unit, every recurring upgrade, reservation deposits and delivery fees by zone. The pricing schedule lets a superintendent separate unit rent from transport and optional systems before starting a reservation. It also states the damage-waiver option, environmental fee and annual rate change rather than asking the reader to infer them from a sample order.

For the Base office, the monthly rent is $795/mo and the office reservation deposit is $750. The deposit reserves a specific unit and delivery window and applies to the first invoice. Cancellation in writing more than 14 days before the first day of the delivery window earns a full refund; inside that period, or if delivery is refused, the deposit is forfeited under Rental Agreement §2.

Rent begins at delivery and remains due for the full minimum. It then runs month to month until written pickup notice and retrieval. Rates rise 5% on each anniversary of delivery. The damage waiver is 12% of rent plus recurring upgrades, and the environmental fee is 5% of that same base without applying to the waiver or tax.

Conexwest publishes general sale-price ranges on its Denver page; those figures are not repeated here. Its public material says orders can be placed online and rentals are month-to-month. Published JOLT terms do not mean every project costs the same. Address, unit, upgrades and tax still change the order. The difference is that each published line has a defined place, so the person writing the purchase order can identify what remains to be confirmed before clicking Reserve.

How do delivery and mountain access differ?

JOLT stages every container at Gypsum and dispatches its own truck. Standard delivery is a 2–4 week window from a confirmed reservation. JOLT Express is limited to an eligible Base 20 ft office and puts it on site within 7 business days for $750; it is a service window, not a specific-date promise.

Delivery fees follow six published geographic zones. Zones A through E cover listed Colorado towns, with pickup priced the same as delivery. Zone F reaches named locations in Wyoming, Idaho, Utah and Montana; outbound delivery is $1,795, pickup is quoted in writing before dispatch, and every Zone F rental has a 12-month minimum. The site must be firm, level and well drained. A 20 ft placement needs about 70 ft of straight-line truck clearance, while a 40 ft placement needs about 100 ft, along with workable road width, turns, grade and overhead clearance. Utilities must be located and marked, required consents secured, and a representative present to direct placement under Rental Agreement §5.

The mountain access guide helps a superintendent inspect the approach before the delivery window. Snow, soft shoulders, narrow gates, branches, wires, excavation and stored materials can affect a route even when the pad itself looks ready. JOLT places the unit where the site representative directs, and customers may not lift or move it with their own equipment.

Conexwest lists four delivery methods: tilt-bed truck, tilt-bed with trailer, flatbed truck and crane truck. That information establishes available methods, not which one a particular order includes. Its stated 3–5 business-day lead time comes from the about page; the customer should confirm method, address access and timing for the individual order.

What belongs in the contract and exit review?

Start with the minimum and the event that ends billing. A Colorado JOLT office has a three-month minimum, after which it continues month to month. The customer gives at least 15 days' written notice, but billing stops at retrieval rather than when the email is sent. The route and unit must be ready when our truck returns.

The pickup checklist is direct: empty the container, remove customer property and attachments, clean it and restore truck access. Leave JOLT cameras, telematics, upgrade hardware and BRAND vinyl in place. A failed pickup trip is charged, and property left inside is deemed abandoned under Rental Agreement §16.

Use restrictions deserve review before mobilization too. A rented container is not a residence, and overnight sleeping is prohibited. Hazardous materials, stacking, welding, cutting, drilling and painting are prohibited, as is removing JOLT signage or systems. The customer keeps snow, ice and debris off the unit and access route under Rental Agreement §7.

Conexwest describes its rentals as month-to-month; its pickup notice, cancellation rules, annual changes and deposit terms belong in the agreement it issues. Ask for the current agreement and compare the same operational points: when rent starts, what the minimum means, how pickup is requested, when billing ends and who prepares the route.

If ownership is under consideration, separate that decision from rental convenience. JOLT offers a purchase path for a 20 ft office, while Conexwest sells new, used and refurbished containers. Title, maintenance, later transport and site approvals shift differently when equipment is owned, so compare the paperwork for the transaction actually being considered.

How should a superintendent decide?

Choose JOLT when the project is in the published Colorado or Zone F service area, needs a one-trip office or storage container, and benefits from exact rents and delivery zones before reservation. It is also the direct fit when Alpine's mountain treatment, Grid-Free's integrated systems or the WATCH, CONNECT, POWER and READY packages answer defined site requirements.

Choose Conexwest when buying a plain container outright is the central goal, a 48-state network is useful, or a month-to-month storage rental aligns better with the schedule. Its broader storage, office, refrigerated and specialty categories can also matter more than JOLT's narrower unit range. These are scope differences, not claims about service quality.

Use a short job-specific list:

• Decide whether the equipment will be rented or owned.
• Record the required container type and size before comparing providers.
• Put the delivery address and truck approach in the request.
• Separate rent or sale price, delivery, recurring options and tax.
• Read the minimum, cancellation, pickup and rate-change language.

For a rental, compare the actual working configuration rather than an empty shell. A Base office with shore power answers a different need than a Grid-Free unit without utility service or an Alpine office adding its mountain envelope to those off-grid systems. A plain 20 ft storage container is a different order again, even if all are delivered on a container truck.

What should a first order include?

Begin with the address, desired use and required date range. For JOLT, select the unit, identify the delivery zone and describe the approach, pad and overhead conditions. Then decide whether the office needs shore power, remote visibility, internet, solar support, furniture or removable logo branding.

Match the unit to the physical job. The Base office needs a site electrical supply connected through its provided inlet by a licensed electrician. Grid-Free is a JOLT choice when HVAC must run without shore power. Alpine has the same off-grid systems plus the specified mountain envelope and covered entry.

If storage is the job, determine whether daily personnel access or standard cargo-door access is needed. JOLT's 10 and 12 ft storage units have a man door and one barred window, while the 20 and 40 ft storage units use cargo access.
