Yes. JOLT requires an office reservation deposit of $750, with the same amount for all 20 ft tiers and the 40 ft bathroom office. Rental Agreement section 2 applies that payment to the first invoice. The deposit does not replace the rental minimum or the separate review of delivery, pickup and recurring charges.
Is the deposit the same for every JOLT office?
Base, Grid-Free and Alpine share the same office reservation deposit. The 40 ft office with bathroom uses that amount as well. You can therefore compare those offices without inventing a larger deposit for a longer unit or a higher tier. The rent and equipment selection still need their own review because an equal reservation payment does not make the offices identical.
The 20 ft ISO container used for the Base office comes with lights and outlets, a vinyl-plank floor, mini-split heating and cooling and an inlet for 50-amp shore power. It uses customer-provided shore power or a customer-supplied generator. Its recurring rental amount is $795/mo. Keep that monthly amount distinct from the reservation deposit in your purchase approval.
Grid-Free adds built-in solar through POWER, connectivity through CONNECT and the WATCH camera; its 10 kWh battery operates HVAC without shore power. Alpine builds on Grid-Free with a mountain envelope, covered entry deck, standing-seam over-roof, cedar surrounds and backup heat. Those configuration differences belong in the equipment and rent comparison. They are not a reason to invent a tier-specific reservation deposit.
JOLT's 40 ft office uses an ISO container with the bathroom enclosed at its far end and the common office features included. Ask for the particular details your project needs before approving that unit. Do not use the shared deposit to infer matching dimensions, fixtures, utility arrangements or monthly rent across the office choices.
How is the deposit applied to the first invoice?
Rental Agreement §2 provides the governing fact: the office reservation deposit credits the first invoice. In your accounting review, treat the amount already paid as a credit to reconcile against that invoice. Do not count it once as a reservation cost and then count the same payment again as an additional charge without recognizing the credit.
Ask the person approving the invoice to match the reservation record with the correct job and office. Record the selected tier and location clearly enough that the credit is associated with the intended order. This is a practical reconciliation step, not a separate promise about JOLT's invoice layout or the day an invoice will arrive.
Keep the deposit receipt with the delivered quote and the equipment selection. Those documents answer different questions: what was paid to reserve, what transport was quoted and what office was requested. They should be reviewed together when the first invoice is approved. If they appear inconsistent, ask for a written explanation before entering a substitute amount in the job budget.
A first-invoice credit does not tell you the full payment schedule for every other line. Confirm invoice timing, any balance due and the treatment of each charge in the written quote. Do not assume that crediting the deposit also establishes a security-deposit arrangement, a release at pickup or a special payment method. Those are different claims that require their own written support.
Which charges are separate from the reservation deposit?
Start with the selected office's monthly rent and any recurring upgrades. Invoice additions consist of applicable sales tax, an environmental fee and the damage waiver, which is calculated as a percentage of rent. A reservation payment credited to the first invoice is not a statement that those recurring items disappear. Use current pricing to review the equipment and upgrade amounts rather than building a budget around the deposit alone.
READY's monthly package contains two chairs with a plan table, a whiteboard, a 1,500 W heater, a microwave and a mini-fridge. WATCH's panoramic camera uses solar and LTE, with cloud clips and motion alerts. For connectivity, CONNECT includes a router with Starlink Mini and the 50 GB Roam service. If those features are requested, identify whether they are selected separately or included in the office tier.
The POWER upgrade uses an inverter, two panels of 400 W each and a battery rated at 3 kWh with LFP chemistry for laptops, lights, camera and Starlink. It is not sized to run the mini-split. THE JOLT PACK combines WATCH, CONNECT and POWER; READY remains separate. A payment approval should name the actual configuration instead of treating the deposit as a description of included equipment.
Delivery and pickup require another budget line. Their pricing follows the destination rule, not the amount of the office deposit. Ask for the transport treatment and payment timing in the written quote. Do not infer that a low initial reservation payment includes either leg or fixes the complete delivered cost for every state.
How does geography change the delivered budget?
For Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Montana, JOLT uses a fixed published transport fee per unit each way, with an equal charge for pickup. The state delivery rules identify that fixed-fee region. Keep the two directions visible when reviewing the project commitment. A delivery-only line is not the same as a budget that also addresses removal.
Elsewhere in the contiguous states, and for Alaska and Hawaii, delivery and pickup receive a project-specific quote. Submit the job ZIP together with the selected office through the nationwide project-quote process. Allow one business day for the project desk to issue its written delivered offer. Requests received after 5:00pm Mountain Time are counted from the next business day.
The offer has a 14-day validity period. Follow the email's "Reserve this quote" link to open checkout with delivery and pickup priced from that offer. Reserving through that link ties the transport amounts under review to the project quote being approved. Do not replace them with an estimated national average or a guessed mileage calculation.
The office deposit and the quote's validity period are different parts of the decision. One describes the reservation payment and its first-invoice credit; the other describes how long the delivered offer holds. Put both in the approval record. This lets purchasing verify the actual offer before committing rather than assuming a deposit amount is itself a nationwide transport quote.
How do deposits differ from prepaying an entire rental term?
A deposit credited to the first invoice is not the same statement as requiring payment for every month at reservation. JOLT specifies the office reservation amount and its application against the first invoice. That does not establish an entire-term prepayment policy. Confirm the rest of the payment schedule in the written quote rather than calculating an upfront total from assumptions.
Other operators illustrate why the wording matters. Satellite Shelters says its special-event or short-term rental policy requires prepayment for the whole rental term (satelliteco.com, rental FAQ special-event answer, checked October 22, 2026). That statement is scoped to its answer about those rentals. It is neither a description of every Satellite lease nor a rule for a JOLT office.
Nadler Modular describes a first invoice including the initial month's rent and named one-time charges for delivery, installation, teardown and return (nadlermodular.com, office trailer rental prices, checked October 22, 2026). That is Nadler's stated invoice approach. Do not import its charge names or billing timing into a JOLT purchase order merely because both companies rent offices.
For any competing proposal, separate reservation payment, recurring rent, first-invoice contents and the minimum term into distinct questions. Confirm in the written quote anything the proposal does not establish. Comparing only the first amount payable can conceal a difference in what that payment represents. The goal is an accurate comparison of commitments, not a claim that every supplier structures payments alike.
Does the reservation payment change the minimum rental term?
No. Colorado office rentals have a three-month minimum; rentals outside Colorado have a 12-month minimum. The same office deposit applies without converting the longer commitment into a short rental. Review the mobile-office minimum-period answer if duration is the main procurement question, and keep that decision separate from the reservation transaction.
A project needing an office for only part of a year outside Colorado still has to evaluate the 12-month rule. Do not approve the deposit as though it were the complete commercial commitment. Put the expected project duration beside the required rental term for the approving manager. That comparison makes the scheduling assumption visible before the order is placed.
For a longer deployment, rent escalates at the published annual escalator on each delivery anniversary. The reservation deposit is not a rate lock that removes that rule. Ask the budget owner to distinguish the initial recurring amount from the anniversary treatment. A forecast extending beyond a year should not silently carry the opening rent forward without that review.
Triumph Modular's budgeting guidance identifies office size, term, delivery location, site conditions and features as cost inputs (triumphmodular.com, office budgeting considerations, checked October 22, 2026). This is its planning guidance, not a JOLT discount or payment formula. It supports asking complete questions instead of treating a single reservation figure as the whole project cost.
What cancellation deadline should you review before reserving?
For free cancellation, give JOLT written notice with more than 14 days remaining until the delivery window's first day. The starting point is the opening day of that window, not an assumed individual delivery date. Make sure the person authorizing the reservation understands which date governs. Do not substitute a verbal scheduling discussion for the written-notice requirement.
That deadline is a cancellation rule, not a full description of how a payment is returned or credited after a cancellation. Ask for written confirmation of the applicable payment treatment and processing timing. Do not promise a refund method, an automatic reversal or a particular number of processing days. None of those details follows simply from the phrase free cancellation.
If the project schedule is unsettled, identify who will monitor the decision date and send any required notice. Keep the delivery-window information with the reservation record rather than in an unrelated scheduling thread. This is a way to manage the stated deadline, not a claim that a reminder changes it. A late internal approval does not establish a different cancellation rule.
The standard delivery window is 2–4 weeks from confirmed reservation. In Colorado alone, eligible Base 20 ft offices can use JOLT Express for arrival within seven business days, with its separate Express fee. Do not apply that option to nationwide work. Whether using the standard window or reviewing Colorado eligibility, settle cancellation and payment questions before treating the reservation as an informal hold.
How is pickup planning different from cancellation?
Cancellation before delivery and pickup after a rental begins are separate events. Give written notice for pickup no fewer than 15 days ahead, as required by Rental Agreement §16. That notice requirement does not replace the minimum term or establish a refund policy. Use the ending-a-rental answer for the full pickup question rather than trying to settle removal through the original deposit receipt.
When creating the initial purchase record, preserve the quoted pickup charge with the delivery information. In the fixed-fee region, remember that pickup costs the same as delivery per unit. For other destinations, keep the project-specific pickup amount attached to the quote. This avoids evaluating the reservation without addressing the final transport leg.
Do not infer automatic billing cutoff, proration or early-termination charges from the notice rule. Each is a separate commercial question to resolve in the applicable written terms. A request for removal is not, by itself, a complete explanation of the account balance. Keep notice compliance, minimum-term compliance and invoice reconciliation as separate checks.
What should purchasing verify before approving the deposit?
Confirm the job ZIP, office selection, reservation amount and first-invoice credit treatment. Then review recurring rent, selected upgrades, invoice additions, required term and both transport directions. Save the written delivered offer and identify its validity date. This creates an approval based on the office project rather than on the smallest amount visible at reservation.
Use how renting works for the ordering sequence and ask the project desk to resolve remaining commercial questions in writing. JOLT is based in Gypsum, Colorado, and its phone is 970-279-1015. Call between 7:00am and 7:00pm Mountain Time on weekdays, Monday through Friday. Bring the reservation and quote details to that conversation so the response addresses the specific order being approved.

Yes, the reservation deposit for a JOLT office is $750, and it credits the first invoice.
Does choosing Alpine change the office deposit?
No, Alpine's reservation payment matches Base and Grid-Free, and that same deposit also applies to the bathroom-equipped 40 ft office.
Is the deposit an additional month of rent?
The reservation payment is applied to the first invoice under Rental Agreement section 2 rather than described as an extra rental month.
Does paying the deposit cover delivery and pickup?
Transport must be reviewed separately, using the fixed regional charges or the project's written delivery and pickup quote.
Can I assume the entire minimum term is prepaid?
No, a first-invoice deposit credit does not establish a policy requiring or recording prepayment of the entire rental term.
What deadline applies to free cancellation?
Written cancellation must arrive more than 14 days before the delivery window begins to qualify for free cancellation.
When will a cancellation refund be processed?
Confirm the payment treatment and processing timing in writing rather than inferring a refund schedule from the cancellation deadline.
