A rented generator, fuel runs and noise all day. Our estimate for a Base office run on a generator, with fuel runs, internet and a camera, is $2,308 a month.
What JOLT changes
Grid-Free carries roof solar, a 10 kWh battery, Starlink and a camera. The battery runs the heat and A/C. $1,495 a month. Nothing to refuel.
Crews cool off in idling trucks. Afternoons slow down. Plans and laptops sit on the dash.
What JOLT changes
Every office has a mini-split for cooling and heat. Grid-Free runs it from its own battery.
Tools that walk off at night
What it costs you
Equipment theft costs U.S. contractors an estimated $300 million to $1 billion a year (National Equipment Register and NICB). Most of it is never recovered.
What JOLT changes
One-trip steel storage with a welded lockbox. WATCH adds a solar LTE camera with motion alerts for $129 a month. It comes built in on Grid-Free and Alpine.

What JOLT changes
A clean, lit office with a plan table (READY), Starlink for plans, email and video calls, and your logo on the door.
We help you plan the placement. Here is what Louisiana asks for. Begin with the parcel, not the mailing city. A New Orleans address raises different questions from an unincorporated Calcasieu Parish site. Identify who controls the land and whether people will work inside. Show that authority the proposed office position and intended use. We can compare office and storage footprints against your marked space. Take the same drawing to the appropriate public office. Keep the answers attached to the Louisiana project plan. That way, changing a subcontractor's staging area does not erase the placement decision.
On a private lot
The Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council statute assigns code adoption and code-official training to the council. Ask your parish or municipal building official how the adopted code applies. Describe the occupied office, its power connection and the worksite's duration. Ask the planning desk about temporary construction use on that parcel. A permitted building project and a separate field-office position are distinct questions. Give the reviewer both the construction plan and proposed container position. For a Lake Charles-area parcel, identify its actual municipal or parish jurisdiction. For a Baton Rouge-area site, identify the authority for that specific address. Bring the actual Lake Charles or Baton Rouge address to its planning desk.
New Orleans new-construction permit guidance describes building permits for new structures. Ask Safety and Permits how that guidance applies to a relocatable office. Describe its occupied use rather than only calling it a container. Share the intended electrical connection with the building reviewer. Show the private-lot boundary beside the planned pad. If the project controls only part of a lot, show that limit too. A Canal Street renovation might have room for storage but not an office. We can compare a shorter box against that authorized rectangle. Ask whether exterior storage is allowed with the approved Orleans Parish use. Keep the response with the parcel owner's permission.
On a Calcasieu bridge assignment, ask the prime contractor to identify its approved staging parcel. The public bridge corridor contains many separate work areas. Use the assigned construction parcel, not the entire I-10 corridor, as your planning boundary. The 2024 DOTD Calcasieu bridge announcement describes approaches, ramps and service roads. Those moving work fronts make a stable office location especially valuable. Ask the parcel controller which areas remain available through later phases. Tell us the approved dimensions before comparing a 20 ft office with a 40 ft office. Check separately whether a storage box can use the same work area.
On a street or sidewalk
New Orleans Dumpster or Storage Container Permit instructions cover containers in public view in front of property. The city's Traffic Division administers that process. Ask whether the proposed office position falls within its review. Give Traffic a plot plan showing adjacent streets and right-of-way widths. The instructions also ask for roadway widths, traffic direction and nearby construction. Mark traffic devices around the position. For a box actually in the right-of-way, ask about City Code section 146-585. That section is cited for identification and safety markers. A container on a Canal Street curb needs this Orleans Parish answer. A Lake Charles curb needs its own street authority's answer.
The same New Orleans permit instructions distinguish metered and unmetered public space. Mark meters on a proposed Orleans Parish frontage. Explain whether space is needed briefly for unloading or throughout the project. If the block needs a construction zone, read the separate city Construction Zone Permit guidance. Ask Traffic and Safety and Permits which applications match the actual activity. A Bertha Street utility site may encounter work already occupying the curb. The city's September 2025 roundup describes drainage work there. Ask New Orleans Traffic about current Bertha Street access.
For other Louisiana roads, identify the parish, municipality or state road authority first. A public sidewalk can have a different controller from the private parcel beside it. Show where the office rests and where unloading occurs. Ask whether either activity needs public-space authorization. Mark the nearest intersection and any existing work-zone limits. A Westlake site near I-210 should identify the actual road frontage. A municipal permission cannot decide a state highway question. If the public-space proposal fails, ask the property controller about another approved private position. We can help compare unit lengths against that alternative.
HOA and deed restrictions
A Louisiana landlord may have rules for placing a temporary office. Ask for consent to the exact proposed location. An HOA may separately review a residential driveway or visible storage box. Show it the planned duration and exterior appearance. Put private approvals beside the parish or city answer. A deed easement near a drainage ditch may constrain available land. Ask the easement holder before drawing a pad across it. Mark the utility corridor on the owner-approved sketch. A residential lot in Baton Rouge calls for a different use inquiry than commercial staging. Give the planning desk the driveway position and intended construction use. Ask the owner whether access must stay open for other occupants.
Alpine's covered entry deck is a real exterior feature. If an Orleans Parish association reviews appearance, show it that design. The matte-black envelope and cedar surrounds are also part of Alpine. An association's approval concerns private rules, not the city's occupied-use review. A Lake Charles lease can specify allowable exterior equipment. Ask the landlord how the office and storage box fit those terms. For a long Calcasieu project, record whose consent survives later construction phases. If the authorized footprint changes, revisit the land-use question. Keep drawings and private decisions in one project folder. We can compare a 10 ft box if the permitted storage rectangle narrows.
Getting the site ready
Mark a firm, level, drained pad for the Louisiana office. Draw the approach from the lawful entry to that pad. Note overhead wires, buried utilities and drainage structures. On a New Orleans street-front parcel, mark the curb and property line separately. A ditch can divide a Calcasieu lot from its apparent entrance. Show the site controller where the crossing is usable. Keep existing building entrances and other tenants' access open. Note any excavation scheduled beside the pad. Ask who can identify the approved position on placement day. Recheck the same access when the bridge or street phase changes.
The 10 ft storage box fits places a 20 ft cannot. Its long-side man door and barred window serve a Louisiana walk-in area. A 12 ft unit is a walk-in tool crib with a man door and window. The 20 ft one-trip unit gives Louisiana crews cargo doors, a welded lockbox and four lock bars. For taller storage, consider a 40 ft high-cube, standing 9 ft 6 in tall. Compare each footprint with the authorized Louisiana staging rectangle. For a power-ready parcel, Base uses a 50-amp shore-power inlet. Ask the Louisiana site's electrician about the planned connection. The 40 ft bathroom office needs a longer approved position. Include its enclosed bathroom in any occupied-use discussion.
Where JOLT fits best
The Calcasieu River Bridge project was projected in 2024 to span about seven years. A subcontractor on a year-plus bridge package may need a consistent workspace. Put drawings and staff in an approved office position. Keep tools in a separately positioned, locked storage unit. Tell the project desk every unit the Calcasieu job needs. JOLT's office and storage choices can serve that same Calcasieu assignment. Ask the prime which laydown rectangle survives changes to ramps and approaches. A shorter walk-in box may preserve useful space beside the office. An I-10 corridor plan should work beyond the initial bridge phase.
For New Orleans roadwork, compare the block plan before selecting a unit. The September 2025 city update lists Bertha, Colbert and Vicksburg Street work. A multistage utility contractor may want a Base office and 12 ft tool crib. If temporary shore service is missing, Grid-Free offers another office option. Keep the separate storage box on an authorized space. The Traffic Division can address any public-view or curb question. We can help select footprints after the parcel controller marks both positions. A long Orleans Parish project benefits from one stable placement plan.
Built for Louisiana weather
The National Weather Service's 1991–2020 normals put New Orleans airport's July high at 90.4 °F. Its January average low is 42.4 °F. Annual precipitation there averages 62.82 inches. Baton Rouge Ryan Field's July high averages 91.4 °F. The annual precipitation normal at Ryan Field is 63.35 inches. Those are two station records, not every Louisiana worksite's forecast. Plan drainage separately for the Calcasieu pad. Plan a cooled office for New Orleans summer field work. Check the local surface after repeated rain. Ask the Calcasieu parcel controller whether a low spot holds water.
For a New Orleans site with shore power, Base has mini-split heat and cooling. Its 50-amp inlet lets your electrician plan the connection. Lights and outlets are included in that 20 ft office. If a Calcasieu work phase lacks shore service, Grid-Free needs no shore power. Calcasieu crews get built-in WATCH camera, CONNECT Starlink and POWER solar with Grid-Free. Its 10 kWh battery runs HVAC; Louisiana sun and load affect output. Ask about the actual sky exposure beside a bridge approach. New structures or equipment may shade a chosen staging corner. Match the office to the location's power plan rather than a statewide weather average.
At a Baton Rouge entrance, Alpine offers its covered deck. Its standing-seam over-roof and backup heat add to Grid-Free equipment. A rainy Baton Rouge entrance may make the covered deck appealing. Ask the local building official about any temporary-structure requirements for that address. For an Orleans Parish storm-preparation question, give Safety and Permits the exact position. Ask the relevant authority about elevation and anchorage requirements for a temporary structure. Keep the crew's weather plan separate from office selection. On a long Lake Charles project, recheck drainage as the surrounding grade changes.
A 20 ft storage container secures tools behind cargo doors and a welded lockbox. On a small New Orleans frontage, the 10 ft box may preserve more pad space. Rain can make access to either box harder when the ground is soft. Mark the planned walking surface on the site sketch. Keep the storage position away from low drainage spots. Discuss the real parcel conditions with its controller. Choose the Louisiana office for people and the separate box for tools. Review both positions after the rainy season changes the site.
How we built this page: rent, upgrade and delivery figures come from the JOLT catalog at build time. Permit, street, HOA and weather facts are linked to their sources in the text. Written and reviewed by Lisa Tanner.
Every 20 ft office has heat and A/C, lights, outlets, a vinyl-plank floor, a 36-inch steel door and two barred windows. Grid-Free adds roof solar, a 10 kWh battery, Starlink and a camera. Offices rent from $795 a month.
Can the office run before the site has power?
Yes. Grid-Free runs its heat and A/C, lights, outlets and Starlink from roof solar and a 10 kWh battery. Output depends on sun and load. It rents for $1,495 a month.
Can we put our logo on it?
Yes. BRAND applies your logo in 24 by 48 inch vinyl on two sides of the unit. $450, one time.
Do I need a permit for a jobsite office in Louisiana?
Yes, a Louisiana office may need local building and land-use approval. The State Uniform Construction Code Council maintains the statewide framework; your parish or municipality reviews the proposed parcel. Tell its building and planning desks about the occupied use, electrical plan and intended position. In Orleans Parish, ask New Orleans Safety and Permits about the address.
Can the office sit on a Louisiana street?
Only with permission from the Louisiana authority controlling that street. New Orleans Traffic Division publishes a Dumpster or Storage Container Permit for containers in public view in front of property. Show its staff the proposed curb position and any unloading space. For a parish road or state highway, identify the relevant road authority before planning a public-space position.
What does the site need before delivery?
A firm, level pad, a clear path for the truck, and a person on site to show the driver where it goes. Tell us about gates, slopes and overhead lines when you ask for the quote.
How much does delivery to Louisiana cost?
Delivery to Louisiana is quoted per project. We route the unit from the nearest JOLT source yard and send a written delivered quote within one business day. It holds for 14 days. Rent is published: offices from $795 a month, storage from $225.
