JOLT quotes container delivery and pickup per project beyond Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Montana. Send the destination ZIP and unit choice for a written delivered quote within one business day. Confirm both transport amounts in that quote rather than budgeting a nationwide estimate; routing uses the nearest JOLT source yard, not an automatic cross-country trip from Gypsum.
Is your container actually shipping from Colorado?
Gypsum, Colorado is JOLT's yard location on I-70, but nationwide routing is based on the nearest JOLT source yard. Do not calculate an assumed trip from Gypsum and treat that mileage as the basis of your project budget. Your destination and selected unit belong in the request so the project desk can provide the applicable delivered quote.
The useful purchasing question is what it costs to deliver the requested JOLT unit to the job and collect it later. That is different from calculating the transport of a particular container you already own. Keep those scopes separate when asking for pricing, especially if a procurement form uses the same shipping label for both.
A JOLT rental quote should identify the equipment your site needs, rather than begin with an assumed freight origin. For storage, specify the length and access arrangement. For an office, identify the tier or bathroom model so the request does not leave the unit selection open.
Do not add an origin-yard name of your own to the purchase order. Ask the project desk to clarify any order detail that matters to your commercial review. A complete delivered price is the decision point; a self-created map route does not establish transport availability, terms or a delivery commitment.
This distinction matters even when the destination is far from Colorado. The phrase across the country describes the reader's concern about long-distance pricing, not a promise that every order will physically cross the country. Use the actual written project price to decide whether the rental fits your job.
Which states use published delivery fees?
JOLT has a fixed published delivery charge in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Montana. Fees apply to each unit and each direction, with the removal leg priced the same as delivery. Colorado uses Zones A–E, and the other four named states use the Mountain West rate.
For all other lower-48 states, as well as Alaska and Hawaii, the delivery and pickup amounts are quoted individually for the project. The delivery cost rules by state establish which case applies. Do not extend a Colorado zone or Mountain West rate to a destination outside those states.
| Area | Towns | Small / 20 ft each way | 40 ft each way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zone A | Gypsum, Eagle, Edwards, Avon | $450 | $1,550 |
| Zone B | Vail, Minturn, Glenwood Springs | $625 | $1,725 |
| Zone C | Breckenridge, Frisco, Silverthorne, Keystone | $850 | $1,950 |
| Zone D | Steamboat Springs, Leadville, Grand Junction | $1,050 | $2,150 |
| Zone E | Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Evergreen, Golden | $1,325 | $2,425 |
| Mountain West | WY, UT, ID, MT and Colorado beyond Zone E | $3,495 | $5,495 |
| Project quote | Lower 48 outside the Mountain West | Quoted | Quoted |
Colorado and Mountain West delivery and pickup are priced per unit. Outside CO, WY, UT, ID and MT delivery is quoted per project. Rentals outside Colorado have a 12-month minimum.
The quoted-project rule applies to the transport of the unit, not a blanket nationwide extension of every JOLT product. Equipment such as ground heaters, traffic control and light towers is limited to Colorado and the Mountain West. Keep those equipment requests separate if your container destination is elsewhere.
The Grid also has its own delivery treatment. Every Grid unit uses a project delivery quote in every state, with DC Deploy priced per campus. Do not apply the ordinary five-state fixed-fee rule to a Grid order simply because the campus happens to be in that region.
A published transport fee is not monthly rent and is not the full rental estimate. When comparing locations, preserve that separation: rental equipment, selected recurring upgrades and transport. A clean estimate shows which line follows a state rule and which line comes from the particular written project quote.
What details does the project desk need?
The starting information is the job ZIP and the unit you want. Enter both through the nationwide project quote request. If your team is still choosing between sizes, state that decision explicitly rather than letting a provisional unit description become the final order by accident.
For a straightforward storage request, the 20 ft storage container is standard height with cargo doors and four lock bars. It has neither windows nor a walk-in personnel door. Those access features matter to the unit choice even though they do not provide a formula for the delivery price.
The smaller storage options, in 10 ft and 12 ft lengths, provide a man door for walk-in access beside a barred side window; cargo doors occupy the end. The 40 ft storage unit is a high cube measuring 9 ft 6 in tall. JOLT's storage containers are one-trip units with welded lockboxes, so describe the size you need rather than asking for an unspecified box.
An office request should be equally specific. The Base 20 ft office has a 50-amp inlet for shore power, a vinyl-plank floor, outlets, lighting and a mini-split providing heat and cooling. The customer must arrange its power source, either shore power or a customer-supplied generator; the Grid-Free office is a different selection.
Provide a reachable project contact and identify questions about access or proposed placement that still need an answer. Ask the desk which additional information it needs for that project rather than inventing a transport specification. For the equipment-selection workflow, use the separate construction-site storage rental answer.
Why should delivery and pickup be quoted together?
A rental must both arrive and leave. For destinations using project pricing, JOLT quotes delivery and pickup for that project rather than assigning an assumed return fee. Review both amounts before approving the order so the transport budget reflects the entire intended rental movement.
Within the fixed-fee states, removal costs the same as the delivery leg for each unit. That equality should not be carried into another state's estimate as an assumption. Outside the fixed-fee region, use the pickup amount in the written quote even if an internal worksheet normally copies the outbound number.
Pickup notice and pickup pricing are different terms. Rental Agreement §16 requires written notice at least 15 days before collection. The rental ending and pickup answer addresses that process; for a freight budget, retain the quoted pickup amount alongside the notice requirement so neither disappears during closeout.
Consider an order with an office and a storage unit. Identify both units in the request and review the transport quoted for that scope. Do not assume one container's delivery amount covers every item merely because the equipment is headed to the same address.
Ask how any proposed scope change should be reflected in writing before approving it. A different unit, destination or quantity should not be priced by editing one line yourself and keeping the rest of the old quote. The commercial record should match the equipment your superintendent expects to receive and later release.
How do transport requirements differ from an online per-mile estimate?
Federal securement rules address more than distance. FMCSA's cargo-securement guidance discusses 49 CFR 393.126 for intermodal containers carried on container chassis and other vehicle types, and states that cargo within them also needs appropriate securement (fmcsa.dot.gov, Cargo Securement Rules and intermodal containers, checked October 22, 2026).
That rule is not a JOLT freight calculator. It also does not establish that every modified office has an identical transport classification. Its relevance here is narrower: a regulated movement has equipment and securement considerations that an online mileage result alone cannot answer for your order.
Triumph Modular's budgeting guidance identifies the distance between an available office and the site, along with unit size, as transportation-cost considerations (triumphmodular.com, office transport budgeting, checked October 22, 2026). This is Triumph's explanation of its budgeting inputs, not JOLT's pricing formula.
Triumph also describes destination-specific route surveys and transportation permits for Boston and Cape & the Islands in its delivery guidance. Its stated two-week planning lead time for those destinations belongs to that supplier's process. Do not convert it into either a national JOLT surcharge or an extra interval automatically added to your reservation.
The correct comparison is between written offers covering the same unit need and site. Ask what each proposal includes and mark any unverified competitor transport term "Confirm in the written quote". Avoid leveling offers with a self-created mileage allowance that neither supplier has committed to honor.
Does this quote cover moving a container you already own?
Treat rental delivery and a request to move your own container as different scopes. JOLT's described nationwide process is for a selected JOLT unit delivered to the project, with pickup priced as part of the rental transport. Do not infer that the same offer includes hauling a customer's loaded container between properties.
If you are asking about an existing container, explain that situation before relying on a rental quote. Describe ownership, whether it contains goods and what movement you are requesting, then ask for a written scope. A response about a JOLT storage rental should not be repurposed as authorization for a separate moving job.
The securement guidance does not answer whether JOLT offers that separate service. Nor does the presence of cargo doors mean a container rental quote includes shipping customer possessions inside it. Keep the goods-moving question visible rather than burying it in an address-change note.
For construction procurement, specify the outcome in plain terms: a rented storage unit at the jobsite, an office for administration or a different movement of existing equipment. That wording helps the project desk address the actual request. It also gives your purchasing team a clear basis for checking whether the returned quote matches what was requested.
Do not promise a customer or subcontractor that JOLT will perform a separate move while awaiting an answer. Obtain explicit written scope first. A careful distinction at the request stage avoids turning an equipment-rental budget into a commitment for a service the quote never described.
How do quote validity and delivery timing affect the purchase order?
After you submit the destination ZIP and chosen unit, JOLT's project desk has a one-business-day written quote response. Requests submitted later than 5:00pm Mountain Time are counted from the following business day. This is a response-time rule for pricing, not a claim that the container will arrive within that interval.
You have a 14-day quote validity period. The email's "Reserve this quote" link opens checkout with its delivery and pickup amounts already attached. Use that link for the quoted order instead of manually entering an assumed nationwide transport fee into another reservation.
JOLT's regular delivery window is 2–4 weeks from confirmed reservation. Match that window to your field needs before approving the order. A completed quote and an internal purchase order should not be described to the site as a guaranteed arrival on an earlier date.
JOLT Express offers a different commitment only for eligible Base 20 ft offices in Colorado. It is not an expedited nationwide storage option or a way to turn a project-priced freight request into seven-business-day delivery elsewhere. Keep that limitation clear if several projects in different states share the same purchasing desk.
Free cancellation requires a written message received earlier than the final 14 days before your delivery window's first day. Record that deadline separately from quote expiration because they use different starting points. When plans remain uncertain, have the project manager review both dates before authorizing a reservation.
How should you compare the delivered rental commitment?
Start with current rental prices, then add the selected recurring upgrades and both transport legs from the appropriate pricing rule. Monthly rent for a 20 ft storage unit is $295/mo. That rental rate does not substitute for a project freight quote beyond the fixed-fee region.
Every rental outside Colorado requires at least 12 months. In Colorado, the 10 ft through 20 ft storage sizes have a one-month minimum, while 40 ft storage and offices require three months. The same transport spend can therefore sit beside different rental commitments depending on the destination and unit.
Invoices include damage waiver, an environmental fee and applicable sales tax in addition to rent and recurring upgrades. Rent changes at delivery anniversaries according to the published annual escalator. Keep these recurring terms separate from the one-time transport comparison rather than presenting a freight quote as the complete project cost.
Reserving an office takes a deposit of $750. Rental Agreement §2 directs that payment to the first invoice rather than treating it as additional freight. Do not add the deposit again as if it were another transport leg. Ask the approving person to distinguish an upfront payment from the total commitment being authorized.
When buying instead of renting, delivery for a purchase is included in Colorado Zones A and B; nationwide purchase delivery receives project pricing. Do not carry that Colorado purchase inclusion into an out-of-state rental comparison. Match ownership arrangement, destination and equipment before deciding two delivered totals are comparable.
What should you send before requesting final approval?
Send the decision maker the selected unit, destination ZIP, intended field period and current written transport quote. Identify delivery and pickup as distinct amounts, and show the rental minimum beside the expected use period. A short job outside Colorado still needs review against the 12-month rental commitment.
Have the field contact check that the unit description matches how the site will use it. A storage container is not the same ordered equipment as an office with lights and climate control. Resolve that distinction before a transport budget is approved for the wrong unit.
Keep the quote email available to the person who will reserve the equipment. Its link preserves the quoted delivery and pickup in checkout during the validity period. If the request has changed, obtain current written terms instead of asking the approver to rely on a partial edit of the earlier offer.
Finally, record the pickup notice owner while the job is being mobilized. Long-distance delivery is only the first movement in a rental plan, and removal still needs written notice and coordination later. A complete approval covers the selected unit, the rental commitment and the transport in both directions.
Questions contractors ask
What does nationwide JOLT container delivery cost?
Delivery and pickup outside the five fixed-fee states receive written project pricing based on the job ZIP and selected unit.
Must every nationwide order leave Gypsum?
No. JOLT routes units from the nearest JOLT source yard rather than automatically sending every unit from Gypsum.
Which states have fixed published transport fees?
Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Montana use published fees per unit each way, with the pickup charge matching delivery.
How quickly can I receive project transport pricing?
JOLT provides the delivered quote in writing within one business day, counting submissions received after 5:00pm Mountain Time from the following business day.
Does quoted delivery mean the container arrives the next day?
No. Standard delivery is planned 2–4 weeks after the reservation is confirmed.
How do I reserve the project-specific transport amounts?
Use the Reserve this quote link in the quote email to open checkout with that quote's delivery and pickup.
Does a rental-delivery quote cover moving my own loaded container?
Do not treat it as authorization for that different service; ask for a written scope before making any moving arrangements.
How far ahead must I request rental pickup?
Submit pickup notice in writing at least 15 days ahead under Rental Agreement section 16.
