Grid Core is $1,950/mo and Grid Command is $2,750/mo, both on a 12-month minimum with a $2,500 reservation deposit per unit. DC Deploy covers freight, set, leveling, anchoring, an electrical walkthrough and pickup; it is quoted per campus in one business day. The tables below show add-ons, published fees, term totals, campus examples, and purchase and lease-to-own prices.
JOLT publishes rent because a site logistics manager comparing offices wants a number. DC Deploy gets a written per-campus quote.
What does each Grid cost per month?
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
The campus already has fiber and badging. $2,500 deposit · 12-month minimum · 6–8 weeks window | $1,950 /mo |
Most popular First office on site, before power lands. $2,500 deposit · 12-month minimum · 6–8 weeks window | $2,750 /mo |
DC Deploy covers freight, set, leveling, anchoring, an electrical walkthrough and pickup, quoted per campus in one business day.
Both builds use the same chassis: a one-trip 40 ft high-cube ISO container with 320 square feet. The difference is the Command package, which adds badge-ready doors, four LTE cameras, Starlink backup, a generator inlet, six workstations, a 75-inch display, lockers, a coffee counter and your logo. The Command page has the line-by-line.
Rent rises 5% on each anniversary of delivery. Year two of a Command is $2,887.50/mo; year three is $3,031.88/mo.
What does the rent include, and what does it not?
Rent includes the unit and everything on its build list; DC Deploy covers placement, leveling, anchoring, the electrical rough-in walkthrough and end-of-term pickup. The Starlink plan on Command, 50 gigabytes of priority data a month, is inside the rent.
Rent does not include the site's electricity, the generator's fuel, the badge readers and credentials (the owner's vendor supplies those), the site fiber drop, or consumables like whiteboard markers and coffee. Rent does not include a bathroom, because data center sites run portable restrooms on a separate contract and a 40 ft office is better used as 320 square feet of office.
A relocation within the campus is $1,250 per move and is billed when you request it, not in advance. A move to a different campus is a new DC Deploy, quoted for the new campus, because it is a new freight cycle and a new set.

What are the add-ons and what do they cost?
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
Stack Kit $1,500 setup | $395 /mo |
25 kW generator | $1,850 /mo |
ADA ramp | $295 /mo |
Workstation pack | $75 /mo |
Unlimited Starlink | $75 /mo |
BRAND Included on Command | $450 one-time |
On-campus relocation | $1,250 one-time |
Add-ons bill on the same subscription as rent. Adding one mid-term adds a line; it does not open a new contract.
What fees are on the invoice besides rent?
Two recurring lines and one annual change, the same as every other unit JOLT rents.
Protection. A damage waiver at 12% of rent and recurring add-ons, or a refundable deposit of one month's rent with a certificate of insurance naming Stone Ridge Leasing, LLC as loss payee.
Environmental fee. 5% of rent and recurring add-ons, disclosed on every invoice and not compounded on the waiver.
Escalator. 5% on each anniversary of delivery, written into the subscription schedule at reservation so it never arrives as a surprise.
Sales tax is added where the site is. Nothing else is on the invoice.
What does a Grid cost over 12, 24 and 36 months?
| Build | 12 months | 24 months | 36 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grid Core | $27,378 | $56,124.90 | $86,309.22 |
| Grid Command | $38,610 | $79,150.50 | $121,718.10 |
One unit: rent for the term (the 5% annual escalator applies after month 12), the 12% damage waiver, and the 5% environmental fee. DC Deploy (freight, set, leveling, anchoring, an electrical walkthrough and pickup) is quoted per campus in one business day and is not in these figures. The $2,500 deposit is applied to the first invoice, not added; add-ons are separate lines. The 12-month minimum is the shortest term.
| Campus | Monthly rent | Volume credit /mo | Deposits | Stack Kit setup |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grid Core × 2 | $3,900 | — | $5,000 | $0 |
| Grid Command × 12, stacked | $35,370 | $1,650 | $30,000 | $9,000 |
A Grid Campus is 2 to 12 units. Monthly rent is the units' rent plus a Stack Kit per stacked pair, before the damage waiver and the environmental fee and before the volume credit: 5% of rent for the first 12 months when one order holds 6 or more Grid Command units. Deposits are $2,500 per unit. Stack Kit setup is charged per stacked pair; DC Deploy is quoted per campus in one business day.
The term totals include escalated rent, the damage waiver and environmental fee, but exclude the per-campus DC Deploy quote. The reservation deposit is applied to the first invoice rather than added to the total, and add-ons are separate.
What does a Grid Campus cost?
A campus is 2 to 12 Grids in a row or stacked two-high. Each unit is its own subscription at its own rent; DC Deploy is quoted for the campus. Stacking adds a Stack Kit per pair.
The campus examples in the term table show row and stacked configurations. An order of 6 or more Commands receives a 5 percent rent credit each month for the first 12 months; the credit applies only to Command rent on that qualifying order.
What does it cost to buy or lease-to-own a Grid?
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| $48,000 purchase | |
| $2,095 /mo for 36 months | |
| $64,000 purchase | |
| $2,795 /mo for 36 months |
Purchase price is plus DC Deploy, quoted per campus in one business day.
The choices are outright purchase or a 36-month lease-to-own plan with title on the final payment. The buy page explains the reserve and contact path.
How does JOLT pricing compare with office trailer pricing on data center sites?
Trailer rent, delivery, setup and removal vary by vendor and market; the written quote is the figure that counts. Confirm which cameras, internet, furniture, badge prep, generator connection, setup and removal are included in that quote.
The trailer has more floor area than one Grid. For a larger team the answer may be a Grid Campus, not a single unit. For a four-to-six-person office, Grid Command combines the office and connected site systems on one invoice and moves with the project's phases.
What are the terms (deposit, minimum, escalator, cancellation)?
- Reservation deposit: $2,500 per unit at reservation, applied to the first invoice. Cancel free, in writing, more than 14 days before the first day of your delivery window.
- Minimum term: 12 months from the delivery date. Early termination owes the balance of the minimum term.
- Escalator: 5% on each anniversary of delivery.
- Billing: one subscription per unit on ACH auto-pay; rent, add-ons, waiver and environmental fee on one invoice; deposit, Deploy, Stack Kit setup, BRAND and relocations as one-time lines on the same account.
- Lessor of record: Stone Ridge Leasing, LLC, on every invoice and rental agreement.
- Insurance: the damage waiver, or a refundable deposit of one month's rent plus a COI naming the lessor of record as loss payee.
- Site access: the customer provides a level pad, truck access and a power drop; the site requirements page lists the details.
How do national accounts and PO terms work?
PO and net-30 are available to general contractors on a signed master rental agreement after credit approval; otherwise billing is by ACH auto-pay.

Normalize every office quote before selecting a vendor
A useful comparison starts with a common scope, not the monthly number at the top of each proposal. Give every bidder the same site ZIP, requested delivery window, rental period, unit count, office use and placement method. State whether each office needs furniture, connectivity, cameras, badge preparation, backup-power connection, an accessible entrance or branding.
Then ask bidders to separate the office from the work required to put it into service. A quote that combines rent and setup in one number cannot be compared cleanly with a quote that separates freight, placement and removal. Write “included,” “excluded” or “not offered” beside every scope item. A blank cell is not a zero-cost item.
Check physical scope next. Record usable floor area, workstation count, meeting space, doors, windows, power inlet, data handoff and the equipment that is actually installed. Do not give credit for “security ready” until the bidder defines the door hardware and identifies the owner-supplied work.
Apply the same test to connectivity. Command includes Starlink hardware, a router and priority data as backup to site fiber. The site still has to decide who orders fiber, where it terminates and who manages the working network. Another vendor's “internet available” line may mean hardware only, a separate service plan or nothing until a carrier circuit is active.
Finally, compare the same protection election and tax treatment. JOLT's damage waiver is 12% of rent and recurring add-ons. The alternative is described with the insurance requirements in Rental Agreement section 10. Ask another bidder to identify its waiver base, exclusions and certificate requirements in writing.
Separate recurring cost from mobilization cost
Put each quoted line into one of three buckets: recurring, mobilization and conditional. Recurring cost follows the office each billing period. Mobilization cost occurs because the office must reach the pad and be made ready. Conditional cost appears only if the plan changes or the site is not ready.
For a Grid, rent and selected monthly add-ons are recurring. The damage waiver and environmental fee are calculated from rent and recurring add-ons. The anniversary adjustment affects the recurring portion, so a multi-year comparison needs to reflect it rather than multiplying the first monthly invoice by the full term.
DC Deploy is mobilization scope. Its services cover freight through end-of-term pickup, with placement, leveling, anchoring and the electrical rough-in walkthrough between them. That package differs from a proposal that quotes only the inbound move.
The Stack Kit has both a recurring rental and a setup line per stacked pair. BRAND is included with Command and is a one-time option for Core. An on-campus relocation is a conditional line because it is incurred only when the project requests a move.
Keep owner work in a fourth column even when it is not on the rental invoice. Electricity, generator fuel, the site fiber drop, badge readers and credentials remain outside Grid rent. That column prevents a procurement team from mistaking an excluded service for a vendor saving.
Treat the reservation deposit as cash timing, not added scope
The reservation deposit holds a unit and delivery window. It is applied to the first invoice, so it should not be added again when procurement calculates the term cost. Record it separately as pre-delivery cash and show the later invoice credit in the same worksheet.
Cancellation timing belongs beside the deposit entry. Written notice must be received more than 14 days before the first day of the scheduled delivery window for cancellation without charge. The full rule and the consequence of later cancellation are in Rental Agreement section 2.
Do not compare deposits by size alone. Ask whether the amount is refundable, credited, retained until return or used instead of an insurance election. Those treatments affect cash flow differently even when the opening payment looks similar.
The Grid protection alternative is also a deposit, but it has a different purpose from the reservation deposit. Keep the two on separate worksheet lines. One reserves the unit and is applied to the first invoice; the other accompanies the certificate-of-insurance path.
Test the term against the construction schedule
Start with the office need date, the expected release date and the uncertainty around both. The Grid minimum is 12 months. Under Rental Agreement section 3, rent is due for that minimum even if the customer requests early pickup.
A project expected to use the office for less than the minimum should not hide that mismatch. Compare the full committed cost with a shorter-term alternative. A lower monthly rate does not cure unused committed months.
For a program likely to continue beyond the minimum, model anniversary dates rather than calendar years. Grid rent increases 5% on each anniversary of delivery. Month-to-month rates may change separately under the rental terms, so procurement should retain the delivery date and current order with the forecast.
Schedule uncertainty also changes how a relocation should be budgeted. If the office remains on the same campus but follows a building phase, include a possible $1,250 line rather than assuming the first pad lasts through turnover. If the next assignment is at another campus, price that decision as a separate deployment question.
Run at least three schedule cases: release at the minimum, release on the current forecast and continuation past the next anniversary. The exercise is not a prediction. It shows which contractual line changes the budget when commissioning, energization or turnover moves.
Review the first invoice against the order
Before approval, place the signed order, protection election and first invoice side by side. Match the build, quantity, rent, recurring add-ons, one-time work, deposit credit and site tax location. An invoice reviewer should be able to trace every line to a selection or a performed service.
Check the fee bases instead of only their rates. The damage waiver and environmental fee apply to rent and recurring add-ons. The environmental fee is not compounded on the waiver. A spreadsheet that applies both percentages to the invoice subtotal will not reproduce the intended calculation.
Confirm that Command branding is not billed as an extra. Confirm that a Stack Kit and its setup line correspond to a full stacked pair. Check that an ADA ramp, workstation pack or connectivity upgrade appears only when selected.
Keep conditional charges off the baseline until they occur, but retain approved allowances for likely changes. Relocation is the clearest example. Generator fuel is another because the generator add-on and its fuel are different cost lines.
Invoice review should also include the notice period for disputes. Rental Agreement section 4 governs charges, payment, taxes and invoice disputes. Route a discrepancy promptly instead of carrying it as an unexplained variance through several cost reports.
Close the cost forecast before requesting pickup
An office budget does not end when the field team moves out. Rental Agreement section 16 requires written pickup notice. Review its return-condition and access duties before setting the field release milestone.
Add a release milestone to the project schedule. Name the person authorized to send notice, the cost-code owner who checks the final invoice and the field lead who confirms access. If one of those responsibilities is missing, rent can remain an open forecast item after the room has stopped being useful.
Reconcile keys, rented hardware and customer-installed items before the pickup date. Confirm that the badge vendor has removed its readers without altering rented equipment. Remove project records, signage that the customer installed and stored property.
