- Base is the office for a site with power. It has a 36-inch steel personnel door, two barred slider windows, a mini-split for heat and cooling, lights, outlets and a vinyl-plank floor, all fed through a 50-amp shore-power inlet.
- Grid-Free is the office for a site with no power. It adds a solar array and a 10 kWh battery pack that runs the heat and cooling, a Starlink connection and a security camera, all built in.
- Alpine is the front-of-house build for resorts, HOAs and finished sites. It takes everything in Grid-Free and adds a matte black envelope with cedar surrounds, a standing-seam over-roof, a covered entry deck and backup heat.

The 40 ft office with bathroom is for a long job and a bigger crew: twice the floor, with an enclosed bathroom at the far end, on shore power through the same 50-amp inlet.

Why a container office instead of a trailer?
A container office sits at ground level, so nobody climbs stairs with a roll of plans, and there are no trailer tongue, axles or skirting to deal with. The steel shell locks up tight with barred windows. Our trailer or container guide goes through when a trailer is still the better call.
What does delivery cost?
Delivery and pickup are one fee per unit each way. In Colorado the fee depends on the zone, measured from our Gypsum yard, and every address in a zone pays the same. Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Montana share one fixed fee. In the other states of the lower 48 we send a written project quote within one business day. The calculator on this page prices your ZIP.
Terms in plain words
- Minimum term. Three months in Colorado, 12 months anywhere else, then month to month.
- Deposit. A reservation deposit of $750 per office, credited to the first invoice.
- Window. Delivery in two to four weeks. A Base office in Colorado can go express instead, on site within seven business days, for $795.
- Cancelling. Free in writing more than 14 days before the first day of your delivery window.
Who uses a mobile office?
General contractors use one as the superintendent's office and plan room. Utility, pipeline and solar crews put a Grid-Free on a remote right-of-way where no power line runs. Resorts, HOAs and property managers use an Alpine as a sales or welcome office that looks finished from the parking lot. Ranches and land managers use one as a field office through a season. In every case the office is a lockable, heated and cooled room that arrives ready to work in.
Getting the site ready
The office needs a firm, level spot the delivery truck can back straight up to. A Base or a 40 ft office also needs an electrician to run a 50-amp feed to the shore-power inlet, or a generator you supply. A Grid-Free or Alpine needs neither; place it where the solar array sees open sky. The delivery and mountain access guide covers clearances and what to photograph for us.
Upgrades that bill with the rent
Offices can add monthly upgrades such as Starlink internet, a security camera and solar power. The upgrades page lists each price and the builds it fits. On the Grid-Free and Alpine those three come built in.
Built here, and for sale too
We build many of them in our Gypsum, Colorado shop, where we also modify and maintain offices, and the same builds are for sale outright or on a lease-to-own plan. Both sections follow below.

Built in our Gypsum, Colorado shop
We build many of our mobile offices here, and we modify and maintain offices in the same shop.
A build starts as a one-trip steel shipping container. In the shop the crew cuts and frames the door and window openings, lines the walls with rigid foam insulation and half-inch drywall, then fits mini-split heat and A/C, lights, outlets and a locking steel door.
Buy or lease to own
The same builds we rent are for sale. Lease to own spreads the price over 24 or 36 months, and the title is yours after the final payment.

Questions contractors ask
How much does it cost to rent a mobile office?
A 20 ft Base office rents for $795/mo, the solar Grid-Free for $1,495/mo, the Alpine for $1,895/mo and the 40 ft office with bathroom for $1,595/mo. Delivery and pickup are separate per-unit fees, and rent is billed monthly before sales tax.
Do JOLT mobile offices have heat and air conditioning?
Yes. Every office has a mini-split that heats and cools. The Grid-Free and Alpine run it from a solar array and a 10 kWh battery, so they need no shore power, and the Alpine adds backup heat.
What is the minimum rental term for a mobile office?
Three months in Colorado and 12 months at any address outside Colorado. After the minimum, rent continues month to month until you call for pickup.
Are the offices ground level or on a trailer?
Ground level. The office is a steel container set on the ground, so the crew walks in through a 36-inch steel door instead of climbing trailer stairs.
Does the office need power on site?
The Base and the 40 ft office with bathroom plug into shore power through a 50-amp inlet. The Grid-Free and Alpine carry their own solar power, battery and Starlink internet, so they work on a site with no power at all.
How much is delivery for a mobile office?
In Colorado a 20 ft office costs $450 to $1,325 each way depending on the zone, with pickup the same fee. Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Montana have one fixed fee of $3,495 per standard unit. Everywhere else in the lower 48 we send a written project quote within one business day.
Can I buy or lease to own a mobile office?
Yes. The 20 ft Base sells for $17,500 and the 40 ft with bathroom for $32,500. Every 20 ft build has a 24-month and a 36-month lease-to-own plan, from $845/mo on a Base, and title transfers on the final payment.
Who builds JOLT's offices?
