Electrical contractors reserve Grid Command at $2,750/mo because it runs on a generator through its own 50 A inlet, carries prewired Cat6A and a rack for the crew's network, and reaches any lower-48 campus through DC Deploy. The electrical contractor's office can land before the first temp panel because the electrical contractor is the one building that panel.

Every other trade's office can wait for the GC's temporary service. The electrical sub's cannot, and the office it mobilizes with has to work on a generator, hold a crew's network, and move to the next building when the switchgear does.

Why do electrical subs mobilize before temp power exists?

Because temporary power is electrical scope. On a greenfield hyperscale site, the utility's temporary service, the site distribution and the temp panels at each building are the electrical contractor's first task order, and the crew that installs them shows up to a pad with a generator and a fence. The GC's project office comes later. The electrical contractor's project manager, general superintendent, foremen, safety manager and prefab coordinator are on site in week one with no power, no fiber and no badging, and they need an office that morning.

The other reason is scale. A hyperscale building carries 300 to 800 electricians at peak, more than any other trade, and the electrical contractor runs its own safety program, its own prefab coordination and its own daily huddles out of its own office, not the GC's. National electrical contractors with data center groups, Rosendin, Cupertino Electric, MMR, Faith Technologies, IES, Bergelectric and Helix among them, mobilize offices campus after campus, and they mobilize them first.

How does the Command generator inlet work?

A 50 A generator inlet wired to the unit's 100 A panel through a mechanical interlock, so the generator and the shore inlet can never feed the panel at the same time. Plug a generator into the inlet, throw the interlock, and the office runs on it until the shore cord goes on; the site electrician sizes the generator and confirms the load plan.

JOLT's 25 kW standby generator is an add-on at $1,850/mo. Most electrical subs bring their own generator. When the crew has the temp panel energized, the foreman lands a 60 A circuit at the twist-lock shore inlet, throws the interlock back, and the generator goes to the next task.

The source and conductors for that circuit are the site electrician's call, confirmed at the electrical rough-in walkthrough that comes with DC Deploy.

What does the Cat6A backbone and rack give an electrical crew?

A network the crew owns from the first hour. Command carries Cat6A to six drops from a 12U wall-mount rack with a patch panel and a Wi-Fi 6 access point. On day one the Starlink on the roof mast and its router put the office online; when the crew pulls fiber to its own office, which it does before it pulls fiber to anyone else's, the fiber lands in the same rack and Starlink becomes failover.

For an electrical contractor that means the prefab coordinator's laptop, the foremen's tablets, the safety manager's reporting app and the project manager's video calls with the home office all work on the contractor's own SSID, not on the GC's guest network. WATCH's four cameras record to the NVR with 30 days of clips. The rack is site-fiber ready; an electrical crew does not need to be told what to do with that.

How many electricians work out of one Grid, and when do you add a second?

Six at desks and eight at the table. The typical electrical project team on a hyperscale building, a project manager, a general superintendent, two or three foremen who spend the morning in the office, a safety manager, a quality manager and a prefab coordinator, is seven to nine people who are in the office at the same time twice a day. One Command carries it through the first 90 days.

When the crew grows, a second Command can stack on top of the first with a Stack Kit at $395/mo plus $1,500 setup per stacked pair. Some electrical contractors use a Core at $1,950/mo as a training and orientation room on the campus's existing fiber and badging.

How does the Grid support prefab coordination, drawings and BIM on a 75-inch display?

Data center electrical work is prefab work: cable tray assemblies, conduit racks, busway sections and switchgear pads built in a shop and set on site. The coordination happens in the model, at a screen, every morning. Command's 75-inch wall display with HDMI and USB-C is where the prefab coordinator runs the model, the foremen check the day's installs against it, and the project manager walks the owner's rep through a clash on a Tuesday afternoon without leaving the office.

The 10 ft conference and plan table holds a full-size set next to the screen. Two whiteboard walls carry the three-week look-ahead and the prefab delivery schedule. Eight lockers hold the foremen's gear. The coffee counter is where the 6 a.m. huddle starts.

How does the office fit the crew's safety program?

An electrical contractor with hundreds of people on a site runs a substantial safety program, and the office is where it lives. Grid Command includes two steel doors, exit signs and emergency lights, an extinguisher and first-aid cabinet, a smoke and CO detector, and four-point anchoring.

The display can run the morning toolbox talk and weekly safety stand-down for foremen. The lockers hold spare PPE, and WATCH records to the NVR with alerts over LTE.

What does the electrical sub's office look like at 6 a.m.?

The generator is running on the pad. Inside, the prefab coordinator has the model on the screen and the day's tray sections highlighted; three foremen are at the table with the drawings; the safety manager is at the whiteboard with the look-ahead. The project manager is on a call with the home office over the contractor's own network.

When the foremen leave, the display goes to the schedule. That is the office an electrical contractor mobilizes with, working on a generator before temp power, and it is the one that moves to the next building when the switchgear does.

What does an electrical sub's office cost over 18 months?

Term cost depends on the build, protection and add-ons; use the current totals and line items on data center pricing.

How does the office move from the substation yard to the building?

Electrical work on a campus starts at the substation and the site distribution and moves to the buildings as the shells close. The office that landed beside the substation pad in month one belongs beside Building 1's electrical rooms in month six and beside Building 2's in month eighteen.

On-campus relocation costs $1,250 per unit per move. The foreman disconnects the shore cord; JOLT handles lifting, placement, leveling and anchoring; then the foreman reconnects.

What do electrical crews store next to the office?

Copper, and the tools that install it. The tool crib on a data center electrical scope is the most-stolen container on the site: wire, terminations, hand tools, benders, cordless kits and the meters. Place a secure tool crib next to the office and inside the site's security plan.

An electrical contractor that wants the crib fenced puts it inside the same panel line as the office.

How does JOLT bill a sub on a GC's site?

To the sub. Each Grid is its own subscription in the name of whoever reserves it, so an electrical contractor that reserves its own office gets its own monthly invoice. Rent, add-ons, the 12% waiver and the 5% environmental fee appear with one-time lines on the same account.

PO and net-30 are available to general contractors on a signed master rental agreement after credit approval; otherwise ACH auto-pay.

Put the office on the electrical load plan

Treat the office as a defined temporary load, not an incidental receptacle at the edge of the compound. A 100 A panel and exterior disconnect are included with Grid Core, along with its 60 A twist-lock shore inlet. Command adds a mechanically interlocked 50 A generator inlet.

Before placement, identify the first source, the customer-supplied conductors and the responsible electrician. Record the planned transition date if a generator will be replaced by temporary shore power. The source and connection remain site electrical decisions even when the office arrives with the inlet installed.

List customer equipment expected inside the room. The delivered build includes lighting, two heat pumps, receptacles and its office equipment. Added printers, chargers, network equipment or other loads belong in the contractor's calculation rather than an assumption based on the panel nameplate.

For a customer-supplied generator, confirm compatibility with the 50 A inlet and the project's grounding and protection plan. For the JOLT 25 kW generator add-on, identify who will manage the site-side use and fuel coordination. The add-on does not remove the electrician's responsibility to confirm the connection and load plan.

The DC Deploy scope has an electrical rough-in walkthrough with the site electrician. Bring the one-line information relevant to the temporary source, the planned cord or conductors and the person authorized to accept that scope.

Control the shore and generator transition

Write a changeover method before the temporary panel is energized. It should name who verifies the new source, who disconnects the generator and who confirms the office after connection. Keep the steps within the contractor's approved temporary-power program.

The mechanical interlock is the delivered boundary between the two inlets. The site's generator, conductors and protection depend on the source selected by the project electrician.

Coordinate the transition with office occupants. Drawing reviews, network calls and safety records may be active inside even though the change is routine to the electrical crew. A scheduled handoff lets users protect current work and gives IT notice that network equipment may restart.

Repeat the process after relocation. A shore connection near the substation yard does not prove that the next building pad has the same source or routing.

Hand fiber to the office without blurring ownership

The Grid's data package ends at physical office infrastructure. Six Cat6A drops are included, together with a patch panel, Wi-Fi 6 access point and 12U wall rack. The contractor or site IT supplies and controls the upstream network.

Before a fiber handoff, name the rack equipment owner, access-point administrator and network administrator. Identify the approved pathway and termination scope in the contractor's documents.

Command includes Starlink as backup to site fiber. Plan its use based on the owner's security requirements. Decide whether it remains enabled after the fiber handoff and who holds administrative responsibility for the connected systems.

WATCH uses its own included cameras, NVR, LTE backhaul, motion alerts and cloud clips. The project should name the recording administrator separately from the production-network administrator. Camera access should follow the contractor's and owner's site rules.

Run drawing review as a repeatable room workflow

Assign the Command display to controlled review work rather than letting it become an unattended dashboard. The 75-inch screen accepts HDMI and USB-C. The 10 ft table and second whiteboard support the drawing conversation around it.

Start each session from the approved document location. Capture field decisions in the project's record system rather than relying on a whiteboard.

Separate model review from fabrication release. A foreman can use the room to compare routing, clearances and sequence, but the contractor's established approval process still governs what the shop builds. The office furniture and display do not alter design authority.

The room also needs an occupancy rule. Six workstations are fixed work positions, while the conference table has eight chairs. Schedule larger conversations elsewhere rather than turning circulation and egress space into ad hoc seating.

Prepare the next pad before electrical work shifts buildings

Choose the future office location when the building-phase electrical plan is made, not on move day. The logistics review should cover the prepared bearing area, lifting access, route, new source, network handoff and the relationship to active electrical work.

Protect both personnel doors from laydown and temporary feeders. Keep the exterior disconnect and inlets accessible to the electrical crew.

Before disconnecting, identify which customer network and access-control equipment must be handled by its owner. Command may also have badge readers integrated by the owner's vendor even though JOLT supplied the strikes, contacts and pathways.

DC Deploy defines the original placement scope. The on-campus relocation is a separate line at $1,250 per unit per move. Confirm the relocation scope and the customer work around it before selecting the date.

The move plan should assign post-placement checks for the electrical source, network and owner-installed access system to their respective project teams.

How do I reserve for a mobilization date?

Choose Command, then provide the site ZIP, quantity, target date and project details before selecting add-ons and protection; the data center hub covers the complete reserve path.

DC Deploy covers freight, placement, leveling, anchoring, an electrical rough-in walkthrough and pickup for Texas, Virginia, Arizona and any lower-48 site; read the nationwide delivery details. What size generator runs a Grid Command?

Grid Command runs on a generator connected to its 50 A inlet: JOLT's 25 kW add-on at $1,850/mo, or your own once the site electrician confirms the connection and the load plan.

What is the unit's panel and service?

A 100 A panel with an exterior disconnect, fed by the 60 A twist-lock shore inlet or the 50 A generator inlet through a mechanical interlock. Your site electrician confirms the source and conductors at the rough-in walkthrough.

Can we set a tool crib next to the office?

Yes. Set a secure tool crib beside the office and include it in the site logistics plan.

Can one account cover several campuses?

General contractors can use a signed master rental agreement for multiple project schedules, with PO and net-30 after credit approval. Otherwise ACH auto-pay applies.

How many people work out of one Command?

Command provides six workstations and a conference table with eight chairs. A second unit can stack above the first with a Stack Kit at $395/mo plus $1,500 setup per stacked pair.

Does the display work for prefab coordination and BIM?

Yes. The 75-inch wall display has HDMI and USB-C, the 10 ft table sits in front of it, and two whiteboard walls carry the look-ahead and prefab schedule.

How does the office move to the next building?

JOLT handles the on-campus move for $1,250 per unit per move. The contractor's foreman disconnects and reconnects the shore cord.

Who gets the invoice, the sub or the GC?

Whoever reserves the unit gets the subscription and invoice. An electrical contractor that reserves its own Grid does not put that invoice on the GC's account.
