0:00Where is construction starting?
The answer changes every quarter, so JOLT publishes it: the Jobsite Demand Index ranks every state and DC on a score from zero to one hundred.
The score blends three public measures: Census housing permits, how they changed on a year earlier, and data center projects.
0:18How should you read a state's rank?
A high rank is a signal about the coming months, not a forecast. Permits lead groundbreaking by weeks to a few months, and one big apartment permit can swing a small state.
So read the rank beside the permit count. The full ranking, with CSV and JSON downloads, is at joltrents.com.
